One of the people familiar with the investigation said James is examining whether widespread fraud “permeated the Trump Organization.” In a statement, the Trump Organization decried the move as politically motivated."

Murphy, a leader of House Dem centrists, won't seek reelection excerpt: "Murphy is the 22nd incumbent House Democrat to forgo a reelection bid next year. The growing wave of departures comes as historical and political headwinds suggest a likely GOP midterm takeover, and as the House itself becomes a more toxic and stressful environment amid the twin calamities of Covid and the Capitol insurrection. Murphy, a member of the high-profile investigation into those Jan. 6 riots, has faced a dramatic uptick of threats against her and her family."

Trump Gets Brutal Reminder After He Claims Democrats Just Want to 'Put People in Jail' excerpt: "What's more, Trump has repeatedly supported harsh sentences for protesters. Amid the overwhelmingly peaceful protests against racist police brutality last summer, Trump called for a mandatory minimum of 10 years in prison for anyone who vandalized property or toppled statues during a protest."
https://www.cnbc.com/2021/12/20/tru...ral-letitia-james-to-block-company-probe.html excerpts: "Ronald Fischetti, a lawyer representing Trump in the New York investigations, told CNBC in a phone call Monday morning that they plan to file a motion to quash that deposition sometime soon after Christmas." “Despite many years of investigation that nobody else could have survived even if they did things just slightly wrong, yours is just a continuation of the political Witch Hunt that has gone on against me by the Radical Left Democrats for years,” Trump said. “This is not about delay, this is about our Constitution! You are nothing but a corrupt official doing the dirty work of your party. You should not be in office.”

GOP Rep. Scott Perry is the first sitting lawmaker the Jan. 6 panel wants to question excerpt: "The House committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol has requested that Republican Rep. Scott Perry of Pennsylvania provide information about his involvement in unsuccessfully seeking to install former Department of Justice official Jeffrey Clark as acting attorney general of the United States. "We have received evidence from multiple witnesses that you had an important role in the efforts to install Mr. Clark as acting Attorney General," Chairman Bennie Thompson wrote in a letter, made public by the committee, to Perry. "Mr. Clark has informed us that he plans to invoke his 5th Amendment right against self-incrimination in anticipation of a deposition to be conducted by the Committee. When Mr. Clark decided to invoke his 5th Amendment rights, he understood that we planned to pose questions addressing his interactions with you, among a host of other topics," the letter continued. Perry is the first sitting lawmaker that the panel has sought to question. NPR has reached out for comment, but Perry was not made available by publication time."
Man Who Had $90,000 Job Sentenced to Almost Four Years for Participation in Insurrection Devlyn Thompson, 28, was sentenced Monday to three years and 10 months in prison for his involvement in one of the most violent clashes outside the Capitol on Jan. 6, despite his defense arguing Thompson's placement on the autism spectrum should lead to leniency. The judge in the case pointed out his previous employment paid $90,000 per year, ruling autism as irrelevant to sentencing. Thompson is from Washington state, moved to Georgia in 2020 and drove from Atlanta to Washington, D.C. on Jan. 6. He was involved in attacking several Capitol police officers for over two hours before leaving the area. Defense attorney Elizabeth Kelley said because of Thompson's disorder he "functions in many ways as a young child," and it influenced what he believed was happening on Jan. 6. "Autism is not and should not be an excuse for bad behavior, but rather, it should be considered when a person's individual culpability and degree of social understanding is called into question," she wrote.
How Trump Stole Christmas—And Why Evangelicals Rally to Their Savior excerpt: "Standing in line 2.5 hours before the event, I chatted with a group of five elderly women who all came together. All were committed churchgoers in the Dallas area, but none were members at First Baptist. They simply came to see Trump. And they were planning to all get tickets for the event with Bill O’Reilly at the American Airlines Center later that afternoon where Trump would also be speaking. There was Bill, a repairman who had taken public transportation to get to First Baptist. He was not a member either, but had always been a huge fan of Trump and was eager to see him in person. He is unvaccinated because he didn’t trust the science, heard the vaccines caused blood clots, and read somewhere the Omicron variant wasn’t that bad anyway. He was also convinced the election was stolen and said he would vote for Trump again in 2024. And there was Carlos. Like Bill, Carlos was visiting First Baptist from elsewhere in the city along with a friend. And also like Bill, Carlos was certain the election had been stolen from Trump. But Carlos didn’t think Americans should wait for the 2024 election. Speaking to his friend loud enough for all to hear, Carlos explained “Trump should be reinstated and made President for life. Because he should be for life.”"
Chanting USA! USA! inside a church, like it was an Olympic event. How Trump Stole Christmas—And Why Evangelicals Rally to Their Savior excerpt: "As Trump slowly walked off stage, he began a chant of “USA! USA!” throughout the First Baptist audience. What viewers online could not hear was the small group of attendees next to me in the back of the sanctuary who changed the chant into, “We love you! We love you! We love you!” They weren’t chanting to Jesus. They were chanting to their savior."
Trump managed to make it through that event at the Baptist church without calling Jesus a loser for being crucified. After insinuating McCain was a loser, Trump's expected remark would be, 'I want someone who wasn't crucified.'
These people are serious if Trump should lose again in 2024 and they believe the election was stolen (no doubt solely on the word of trump) they're willing to take up arms against the U.S. Government.- they'll lose, but hundreds will die, and thousands arrested. Millions of Angry, Armed Americans Stand Ready to Seize Power If Trump Loses in 2024 Mike "Wompus" Nieznany is a 73-year-old Vietnam veteran who walks with a cane from the combat wounds he received during his service. That disability doesn't keep Nieznany from making a living selling custom motorcycle luggage racks from his home in Gainesville, Georgia. Neither will it slow him down when it's time to visit Washington, D.C.—heavily armed and ready to do his part in overthrowing the U.S. government. Millions of fellow would-be insurrectionists will be there, too, Nieznany says, "a ticking time-bomb" targeting the Capitol. "There are lots of fully armed people wondering what's happening to this country," he says. "Are we going to let Biden keep destroying it? Or do we need to get rid of him? We're only going to take so much before we fight back." The 2024 election, he adds, may well be the trigger. Nieznany is no loner. His political comments on the social-media site Quora received 44,000 views in the first two weeks of November and more than 4 million overall. He is one of many rank-and-file Republicans who own guns and in recent months have talked openly of the need to take down—by force if necessary—a federal government they see as illegitimate, overreaching and corrosive to American freedom.
