Trump allies planned harassment campaign against election officials, documents show excerpt: "Trump allies planned harassment campaign against election officials, documents show Allies of former president Donald Trump planned a campaign of harassment and intimidation against election officials and “weak” Republicans that was to culminate in what would become the worst attack on the US Capitol since the Burning of Washington in 1814, according to new documents provided to Congress. The Trump team’s strategy was revealed in documents provided to the House Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the Capitol by Bernard Kerik, the disgraced ex-New York City police commissioner who spent the days and weeks following the 2020 presidential election promoting baseless claims of election fraud in hopes of dissuading state officials – and later Congress – from certifying President Joe Biden’s victory over Mr Trump. Mr Kerik, a convicted felon who received a presidential pardon from Mr Trump in February 2018, received a subpoena from the select committee demanding that he produce documents and give evidence concerning his involvement in “efforts to promote false claims of election fraud or overturn the results of the 2020 election” and promotion of “baseless litigation and ‘Stop the Steal’ efforts” on 5 November."
Trump allies planned harassment campaign against election officials, documents show excerpt: "The Trump plan was purportedly targeted at GOP state legislators in swing states won by Mr Biden as well as GOP members of the House and Senate. The targets of the plan were to be bombarded with talking points disseminated by Trump-aligned media figures, lawyers aligned with Mr Trump’s failed reelection campaign, and a commissioned Assistant to the President, then-National Trade Council director Peter Navarro, as well as Mr Giuliani and Mr Trump himself. Other “key team members” included “media advisers” such as Boris Epshteyn, a Trump campaign surrogate and ex-Sinclair Broadcasting Company analyst who spent three months in 2017 as the White House assistant communications director for surrogate operations, and Steve Bannon, the ex-White House strategist who currently hosts a pro-Trump podcast. "
Trump was convinced that Ruby Freeman counted illegal ballots for Biden stored in suitcases under the table at the election center. Moreover, Trump claimed she had the machines illegally count them three times. Trump allies planned harassment campaign against election officials, documents show excerpt: "Ms Freeman, who was forced to flee her home for months as a result of the Trump campaign’s false allegations, had her house surrounded by “a crowd on foot and in vehicles” on 6 January 2020, the same day a pro-Trump mob stormed the Capitol. Ms Moss also alleged that Trump supporters tried to force their way into her grandmother’s house in an effort to effect a “citizen’s arrest” on her. Asked to comment on Mr Kerik’s plan to target the homes of secretaries of state with protests, Ms Benson told The Independent she would “never forget the moment armed protestors gathered outside [her] home in the dark of night last December, nor the images of the tragedy at our US Capitol on January 6”. “This abhorrent, un-American, failed effort of those unhappy with the results of the 2020 election to try to intimidate me and many others from protecting and defending the will of the voters in our states shows just how far some were – and are – willing to go to undo democracy in America today,” she said. “Everyone involved in planning these un-American attacks on our democracy must face consequences or we risk seeing an escalated, intensified and potentially more violent recurrence of these attempts in the future”"
Jan. 6 anniversary poll: Share of Trump voters who believe Biden 'won fair and square' falls to 9% amid declining trust in U.S. democracy One year after a mob of Donald Trump loyalists tried to overturn Joe Biden’s 2020 victory by laying violent siege to the U.S. Capitol, the “big lie” that fueled their attack has only become more entrenched. Today, a full three-quarters of Trump voters (75 percent) falsely believe the election was “rigged and stolen,” according to a new Yahoo News/YouGov poll — more than ever before. The fact that Trump’s “stolen election” myth is not just lingering but growing underscores the deep and ongoing damage American society has sustained from Trump’s efforts to delegitimize the election results. Biden voters and Trump voters don’t agree on much, but nearly all of them — 88 percent of the former and 89 percent of the latter — now say they are “worried about the future of U.S. democracy.”
So only nine percent of trump supporters are intelligent. The sad thing is the power of persuasion. Be it social media, or right wing media, or even your next door neighbor, or friend. It used to be that when someone was trying to persuade you, you took into consideration what you heard and would think about it. Think being the operative word. Something that is becoming pretty rare. Some people are so concerned about me, me, me they don’t care about anything else.
Unfortunately, this reported never asked the trump supporters for proof. Then again it would be a moot point.
Those reporters should have been more specific about those leaders being “killers” and mention that they are “killers of their own people”.
Trump endorses Orban. Donald Trump can't get enough of 'strong' authoritarians - CNNPolitics excerpt: "On Monday night, former President Donald Trump endorsed Viktor Orban, the prime minister of Hungary, for reelection. Which, in and of itself, isn't all that surprising. After all, Trump was an open admirer of Orban's time in office -- even going so far as to welcome the prime minister to the White House in 2019, an honor long denied Orban by past US presidents. And Orban will be up for a fourth term sometime this spring, which explains the Trump endorsement timing. But, the words that Trump used to endorse Orban are worth spending some time on because they are so revealing about what the former president values in a leader. Here's the Trump endorsement: "Viktor Orbán of Hungary truly loves his Country and wants safety for his people. He has done a powerful and wonderful job in protecting Hungary, stopping illegal immigration, creating jobs, trade, and should be allowed to continue to do so in the upcoming Election. He is a strong leader and respected by all. He has my Complete support and Endorsement for reelection as Prime Minister!""
A bit of irony in that just about all elections in authoritarian countries are rigged. Something trump complained about in his lost election.

Trump cancels Jan. 6 gathering. Trump cancels Jan. 6 press conference excerpt: "The former president had planned to use the Thursday news conference at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Fla., as counterprogramming for a scheduled prayer service at the Capitol to commemorate the events of Jan. 6. In a statement, Trump blamed the House select committee charged with investigating the Jan. 6 riot for the cancellation. He said he would instead touch on many of the themes he had planned to discuss at the news conference during a rally in Arizona set for Jan. 15. “In light of the total bias and dishonesty of the January 6th Unselect Committee of Democrats, two failed Republicans, and the Fake News Media, I am canceling the January 6th Press Conference at Mar-a-Lago on Thursday, and instead will discuss many of those important topics at my rally on Saturday, January 15th, in Arizona – It will be a big crowd!” he said."
