Graham essentially said that his relationship with Trump ended because of the riot.

A few months later, Graham said the GOP couldn't move forward without Trump after he made a pilgrimage to Mar-a-Lago, like a battered spouse returning the abuser.

Lindsey Graham: GOP can't 'move forward without President Trump'

Gaetz is the 'law and order' politician who, with a group of other GOP members, illegally stormed the hearings in Congress about Trump's involvement in withholding U.S. taxpayer money from Ukraine which led to his first impeachment. It was a delay tactic to try to stop a Pentagon official from testifying.

It was a forerunner to Trump's insurrection at the Capitol, which was another delay tactic to try to buy time for the state legislatures to somehow overturn their electoral slates and somehow overturn the 2020 election more than two months after the election and weeks after the Electoral College had already voted and certified its results that Biden won.

A cartoon was posted that showed Gaetz using a battering ram with the word 'law and order' on it to bash through the doors of a closed session of Congress.

It's akin to the real life 'Trump Law and Order' flag seen with Trump's mob as they barreled through a breached doorway into the Capitol during his insurrection.

Jan. 6 anniversary: U.S. to mark 1 year since deadly Capitol riot with solemn remembrances

    excerpt:

“It was a protest,” Trump told Fox News host Laura Ingraham last month. “The insurrection took place on Nov. 3, which was Election Day. This was a protest, and a lot of innocent people are being hurt. A lot of innocent people are being injured.”

The former president’s repeated attempts to whitewash one of the darkest days in American history appear to be working, at least among his faithful. According to the Yahoo News/YouGov poll, more than twice as many Trump voters now say the events of Jan. 6 were justified (23 percent) as said the same immediately after the siege itself (11 percent).

Trump also told Ingraham he has “nothing to hide” from the Jan. 6 committee, even as his lawyers have appealed to the Supreme Court in an attempt to block the panel from obtaining a vast swath of White House documents relating to its investigation. (Federal judges have rejected Trump’s claims of executive privilege.)

Before Trump was elected in 2016, Graham called him a jackass in 2015 and made many criticisms.

After the election, he became Trump's loyal buddy.

When Trump's riot happened, Graham talked like he was finished with him.

Later, Graham said the GOP couldn't go on without him.

'Look at All Those People Fighting for Me': Trump 'Gleefully' Watched Jan. 6 Riot, Says Former Press Secretary

    excerpt:

"Former White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham said on Thursday that former President Trump was “gleeful” as he watched as his supporters descend on the Capitol last Jan. 6. “He was in the dining room gleefully watching on his TV as he often did. ‘Look at all those people fighting for me.’ Hitting rewind. Watching it again. That’s what I know,” she told CNN’s New Day.

Grisham on Wednesday met with the Jan. 6 committee, which is trying to piece together what Trump was doing in the three-plus hours between when his speech at the Ellipse ended and he finally called on his supporters ransacking the Capitol to stand down. Grisham told reporters she “cooperated fully” with the committee. She told CNN on Thursday that she spend “about an hour” with the committee and answered “every question that they asked of me, and I’m going to continue to cooperate.”

Trump delighting in the violent attack on the Capitol isn’t surprising. The Daily Beast reported on Thursday that “Trump has repeatedly made fun of the idea that certain legislators, police, or journalists were traumatized by the violent events of the day,” according to several sources spoken to by the outlet, who also noted that the former president has at times believes people are “faking” their post-Jan. 6 trauma. The Daily Beast previously reported that Trump privately referred to the Capitol Police officers who spoke to Congress as “pussies.”

Grisham added on Thursday that she spent “about an hour” with the committee, and answered “every question that they asked of me, and I’m going to continue to cooperate.” She told the committee she spoke with them about planning for Jan. 6 and “conversations that were happening” beforehand and during the attack."

Mary Trump Guesses Why Donald Trump Ignored Ivanka's Pleas To Stop Capitol Riot

    excerpt:

“He was getting off on it, and there was no way he was going to stop anything because he was enjoying it too much and he probably wanted it to get worse,” Mary Trump said on SiriusXM’s “Dean Obeidallah Show.”

“You know, the only reason people like Ivanka and others were telling him to stop it is because, in their view, it had gotten out of control. Like they really thought that they could control this monster they’d created and were probably hoping for a bloodless coup.”

“He probably thought, one, that it was fun to watch all these people being murderous on his behalf,” she added. “But two, that that would be the best way for him to stay in power.”

Mary Trump is correct about that statement.

Stephanie Grisham, Trump's White House press secretary at the time, said recently that Trump was enjoying watching his rioters fight for him.

Grisham resigned from her post shortly after Trump's riot.

18-year-old turned in his father after the riot.

My Dad Attacked Cops at the Capitol Riot. I Turned Him In.

    excerpt:

"Reffitt, wearing body armor partially covered by a blue jacket and a black motorcycle helmet, was captured on video on a staircase on the West Front of the Capitol. He can be seen holding his hand up as a police officer sprays him in the face. Moments later cameras capture Reffitt, exhausted from battle, flushing out his eyes with a bottle of water.

When he returned to Texas, according to prosecutors, he delivered an ominous threat to his son Jackson, 18, and daughter Peyton, 16, about what would happen if they told anyone what he’d done: “If you turn me in, you’re a traitor, and you know what happens to traitors… Traitors get shot.”

What he didn’t know was that his son had already turned him in."

Reffitt is also charged with threatening his own children.

My Dad Attacked Cops at the Capitol Riot. I Turned Him In.

    excerpt:

"On Jan. 16, federal marshals showed up at Reffitt’s house and took him into custody. Now he’s set to become the first Capitol rioter to stand trial, next month, charged with attacking a Capitol Police officer, bringing a weapon onto Capitol grounds, and obstructing the process of certifying President Joe Biden’s victory. He is also charged with threatening his own children.

Jackson had actually tipped off the FBI in December, after becoming concerned about his father’s increasingly radicalized rhetoric, including claims he was “about to do something big.”

“I was paranoid through the roof for a while because my dad would constantly go to protests and he would constantly bring his guns and constantly get involved in stuff that he shouldn't be in,” Jackson told VICE News. “And it probably would have gotten worse and worse until someone broke into our house, or he killed someone or somebody killed him.”"

A years-old family photo of Reffitt before he became radicalized by Trump.

The boy in the photo is Jackson, now in his late teens, who reported his father to the FBI.

Trump is still trying to turn everything backwards.

Donald Trump gives thumbs up after seeing fans on Capitol riot anniversary

    excerpt:

"To watch Biden speaking is very hurtful to many people. They’re the ones who tried to stop the peaceful transfer with a rigged election,” Trump said in his latest statement Thursday afternoon.

“America is a laughingstock stock [sic] of the world, and it’s all because of the real insurrection, which took place on November 3rd, but this is an election year and MAGA Republicans should get elected and work with me to fix this horror that Joe Biden and the Democrats have brought us,” he added. “Never forget the crime of the 2020 Presidential Election. Never give up!”
