Goodman speaks on podcast. Trump rioters became distracted by Officer Goodman and walked past the entrance door to the Senate chamber. Capitol Police Officer Eugene Goodman says January 6 attacks 'could have easily been a bloodbath' excerpt: "Speaking on an episode of "3 Brothers No Sense" — a podcast whose hosts include fellow Capitol Police officer Byron Evans — Goodman, an army veteran who served in Iraq, publicly discussed his experiences on January 6 for the first time. Goodman first gained notoriety after a video showed him holding off a mob of rioters beneath the Senate chamber, only to lure them upstairs and away from an unprotected door into the chamber. Goodman's diversionary tactic and quick thinking have been credited with possibly saving the lives of Vice President Mike Pence and several other senators. "I honestly didn't know that they were that far in the building," Goodman said.":
Capitol Police Officer Eugene Goodman says January 6 attacks 'could have easily been a bloodbath' excerpt: "Goodman at one point described hearing about the negative experiences endured by Capitol Police Officer Harry Dunn, who's been among the more outspoken officers in the year since the attack, in a recent lunch with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. "He's said he's out with his daughter, and he's had random people run up and throw drinks in his face, and stuff like that. "That's mostly why I haven't been doing any interviews, anything like that, 'cause I just don't want any part of the negativity.""

Georgia DA granted special grand jury for Trump election interference probe excerpt: ""The special purpose grand jury shall be authorized to investigate any and all facts and circumstances relating directly or indirectly to alleged violations of the laws of the State of Georgia," Christopher Brasher, chief judge of Fulton County Superior Court, wrote in the order approving the request on Monday. The jury will be empaneled on May 2 and will continue "for a period not to exceed 12 months," Brasher wrote. Fulton County Superior Court Judge Robert McBurney has been assigned to supervise and assist the special grand jury."
This guy is correct. True journalism doesn't exist anymore. In the olden days, a journalist would get in Trump's face every time he spouted bs. Today that journalist does not question Trump.
Trump exploded when Jeff Mason asked him politely if he would concede the 2020 election. In the old days it would have been Sam Donaldson and Helen Thomas grilling him. And it would have been in the controlled setting of the White House press briefing room where such events are supposed to be held that Trump rarely used (except for promoting Ivanka's clothing line).
Trump would have revoked the press pass of anyone who grilled him like Donaldson or Thomas would have. White House revokes press passes for dozens of journalists
Even worse, Trump sided with his cohort Saudi elements who were involved in murdering Khashoggi. Donald Trump defends Saudi Arabia's denials in Khashoggi murder, says relationship most important
Are the legal walls closing in on Donald Trump? excerpt: "The D.C. Circuit’s unanimous opinion gives five succinct reasons why stating, “the former President has failed to establish a likelihood of success given (1) President Biden’s carefully reasoned and cabined determination that a claim of executive privilege is not in the interests of the United States; (2) Congress’s uniquely vital interest in studying the January 6th attack on itself to formulate remedial legislation and to safeguard its constitutional and legislative operations; (3) the demonstrated relevance of the documents at issue to the congressional inquiry; (4) the absence of any identified alternative source for the information; and (5) Mr. Trump’s failure even to allege, let alone demonstrate, any particularized harm that would arise from disclosure, any distinct and superseding interest in confidentiality attached to these particular documents, lack of relevance, or any other reasoned justification for withholding the documents.”"
Trump made nebulous claims that the executive branch would be irreparably harmed permanently if the documents were disclosed. He makes the same shadowy, unsubstantiated remarks about the election he thinks was stolen from him (and cowardly runs away from journalists like he did during the NPR interview). That approach doesn't work in court.
In his endorsements, Trump says little about education, healthcare, coal miners, auto workers, or farmers. His emdorsements have extended from Republican vs. Democrat battles to intra-GOP competitions. It has extended even further than that to endorsing multiple GOP candidates within the same race. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...d-total-endorsement/?itid=lk_inline_manual_27 excerpt: "In 4 of 5 tweets of endorsement, Trump has mentioned that the candidate will be tough on crime. In three-quarters, that they will be in support of strong borders. In 6 of 10, that the candidates support our military. That they explicitly support veterans, only a bit less than half the time. In some cases, Trump just offered an endorsement without explaining why."
Trump's recent endorsement behavior gives the impression that he feels his influence has reached a peak or is declining. It seems like he is resorting to increasingly unorthadox approaches to garner the last scraps of influence in elections. It may not even be for the sake of the GOP winning elections but simply that Trump can claim he won something, like his endorsements of multiple GOP candidates in the same race to try to maximize his win percentage. He could endorse the entire GOP slate in a particular race for the purpose of saying he 'won' the primary and also endorse the opposing Democrat in the race just in case that person wins.
Trump really is like Pavlov's dog, he started to salivate after he heard the word wall, Which btw would be completed in 3 years, not three weeks and at the cost of billions to the American people, not Mexico.
Trump needs an applause sign. Eastman loses in court. Judge rejects effort by Trump ally Eastman to sideline Jan. 6 committee subpoena - POLITICO excerpt: "A federal judge indicated Monday he will reject an urgent bid by John Eastman — the attorney who spearheaded Donald Trump’s effort to pressure Mike Pence to single-handedly overturn the 2020 election — to invalidate a subpoena issued last week by the Jan. 6 select committee to Chapman University, Eastman’s former employer. Instead, Judge David Carter ordered Eastman to work with the Jan. 6 panel to produce a log of documents that Eastman wants the university to withhold, citing a variety of confidentiality restrictions and privileges."
