People in the military overseas will likely be crippled by the current confusion. Vote-by-mail rejections are testing integrity of Texas Republicans’ voting law excerpt: "Additionally, the revised application for a mail-in ballot and the specialized envelope to return completed ballots, which now must also include the ID numbers, were not finalized until December. This meant county officials were unable to order updated mailing materials until soon before they needed to start sending them to voters. Tarrant County felt the time crunch in preparing to mail out ballots to overseas voters, which counties were required to do by Jan. 15. Speaking before the county commissioners court last week, elections administrator Heider Garcia said the envelopes weren’t delivered to the election office until the afternoon before the deadline."
The Jan. 6 panel subpoenas 14 people in fake electors scheme tied to Trump excerpt:: "As NPR's Miles Parks has reported, the efforts seem to have been coordinated by members of Trump's campaign, and prosecutors in multiple states are now investigating the submissions. The select committee subpoenaed individuals listed as chairperson and secretary of each group of "alternate" electors: Nancy Cottle, chairperson, Arizona Loraine Pellegrino, secretary, Arizona David Shafer, chairperson, Georgia Shawn Still, secretary, Georgia Kathy Berden, chairperson, Michigan Mayra Rodriguez, secretary, Michigan Jewll Powdrell, chairperson, New Mexico Deborah Maestas, secretary, New Mexico Michael McDonald, chairperson, Nevada James DeGraffenreid, secretary, Nevada Bill Bachenberg, chairperson, Pennsylvania Lisa Patton, secretary, Pennsylvania Andrew Hitt, chairperson, Wisconsin Kelly Ruh, secretary, Wisconsin The panel has subpoenaed dozens of people as it probes the Capitol attack."
Some of the defenders of the fake electors slates seem to giving the impression that there is a formal process for alternate slates to be created and sent to the U.S. Senate, just in case the authentic slate is rejected by the Vice President during counting. There doesn't appear to be any such process in the seven swing states that Trump lost that generated the fake slates. The reason for not having it is that it would be a breeding ground for multiple slates within the same state to be produced and sent to the Senate, creating a confusing situation for the VP. It would cause a quagmire, the type that Trump apparently tried to create on January 6. Pence appears to have anticipated it and made a carefully crafted initial statement that filtered out any attempts to count bogus slates presented to him by Trump's promoters on January 6.
Pence had to play a Whac-a-Mole game to quash all the underhanded tricks that Trump and his adherents might be using to overturn a legitimate election.

Judges have declined U.S.-proposed sentences in two-thirds of Jan. 6 cases so far Of 701 federal defendants, 74 have been sentenced, nearly all for misdemeanors By Rachel Weiner, Tom Jackman and Spencer S. Hsu January 6, 2022 at 10:08 a.m. EST https://www.washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/2022/01/06/jan6-sentencings-judges/ excerpt: "About a quarter of cases in what the government has called the largest investigation in U.S. history have resulted in guilty pleas as of Jan. 6 this year; out of 701 people charged in federal court, 174 have pleaded guilty. (One case was dropped against a man who never went inside the building; two defendants have died.) While half the defendants face felony charges, nearly 90 percent of pleas involve misdemeanors, as prosecutors so far have focused on closing less serious cases to marshal resources for more complex trials ahead. Before the pandemic, about half of federal felony cases in Washington were resolved within a year. But the system has moved slowly for those accused of the most serious crimes due to the pandemic and the vast amount of electronic evidence, whether videos or social media, which had to be reviewed and shared. Prosecutors are also using the felony charge of “obstruction of Congress” in a novel way against 275 defendants, prompting legal challenges that have delayed plea talks. Those challenges are easing, however, likely speeding up guilty pleas, cooperation deals and the overall investigation, as well as increasing average sentences as more felony cases are decided. Capitol riot prosecutions one year later 701 people charged federally 367 with at least one felony 156 charged with assault on police 39 charged with conspiracy 334 misdemeanors only 174 have pleaded guilty 24 felonies 150 misdemeanors 74 have been sentenced 7 felonies 67 misdemeanors 35 sentenced to jail or prison; 14 to home detention; 25 to probation 527 cases remain, 344 involving felonies"
Pennsylvania court strikes down state’s mail-in voting law excerpt: "Act 77 of the Pennsylvania election code was passed in 2019 as the result of a compromise between Republican and Democratic state legislators. Republicans were seeking to end straight-ticket voting, which had allowed voters to select one political party’s slate of candidates, and Democrats wanted to open voting-by-mail to everyone. Chester County election workers process mail-in and absentee ballots for the 2020 general election.Three-quarters of the mail-in ballots cast in Pennsylvania in the 2020 presidential election were votes for Joe Biden. Act 77 was implemented in 2019 with Republican support. But Republicans changed their views on the law after Trump lost the state, with many of them embracing the former president’s false claims that widespread fraud tied to mail-in ballots was behind his defeat. “We need leaders to support removing more barriers to voting, not trying to silence the people,” Wolf’s office said. Trump and Republicans quickly lauded the decision. “Big news out of Pennsylvania, great patriotic spirit is developing at a level that nobody thought possible. Make America Great Again!” Trump said in a statement through his political action committee."
Pennsylvania court strikes down state’s mail-in voting law excerpt: "The state Supreme Court, which will hear the appeal, has a 5-2 Democratic majority and Pennsylvania’s attorney general Josh Shapiro, a Democrat who is running for governor, said he is confident the mail-in law will be upheld as constitutional."
Act 77's passage was unanimous and near unanimous in the PA houses. Republicans applauded Act 77 until Trump lost the 2020 election. Trump won PA by about 44,000 votes in 2016. Trump lost PA by about 80,000 votes in 2020.
Logan, the CEO of Cyber Ninjas, is still refusing to turn over documents that are supposedly stored at an unknown data center. Cyber Ninjas CEO Refuses To Comply With Order To Turn Over Records From Arizona Audit
Logan is known for tweeting and retweeting truther claims about the 2020 election, such as an alleged 200,000 votes in AZ that Trump won that weren't counted. Cyber Ninjas didn't find such votes. The best Cyber Ninjas could do was allege that tens of thousands of votes in AZ were suspicious, which stemmed from its lack of experience with elections. It assumed that issues such as legitimate voters living in other residences and having the same names constituted voter fraud. Cyber Ninjas CEO Refuses To Comply With Order To Turn Over Records From Arizona Audit excerpt: “There’s not a lot I can say,” state Senate President Karen Fann told the newspaper at the time. She said she had no idea where the “data center” was located. Fann was the one who hired Cyber Ninjas in a partisan attempt to challenge Joe Biden’s victory over Donald Trump in the state. Logan, a QAnon conspiracy acolyte, had predicted months before the audit began that “hundreds of thousands of votes” would inevitably be found for Donald Trump.
Trump supporter who issued death threats sentenced to four months in jail. Judge jails Trump supporter for death threats despite DOJ’s recommendation of probation
I don't care how old this guy is he should be in rotting in jail for the next 4 years. One year in jail for every year he's been sending racist death threats
2021 was a dismal year for law enforcement officers. In addition to the 300 who died of COVID, some related to cockiness against vaccines, five died as a result of Trump's riot (one died from injuries at the riot and a subsequent stroke and four were suicides). Washington state trooper who refused to be vaccinated and who told the governor to kiss his ass has died of COVID. Washington State trooper who refused to get vaccinated dies of COVID-19 excerpt: "LaMay's death is part of a larger trend amongst law enforcement officers. In 2021, more than 300 federal, state, tribal, and local law enforcement officers died of COVID-19, according to preliminary data from the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund, marking the deadliest year for police in nearly a century."
Karen Fann is the president of the AZ state senate. She's the one who decided to launch the audit and hire Cyber Ninjas. She's now desperate to comply with court orders to turn over documents from the self-dismantled Cyber Ninjas and is trying to determine the location of a mystical 'data center' of Cyber Ninjas. Cyber Ninjas CEO participates in contentious deposition, says he's not ready to turn over audit records excerpt: "Cyber Ninjas months ago had turned over some records to the Senate, but Logan said the many documents still in the company's possession would have to be reviewed for privileged information before release, and Cyber Ninjas had no assets to pay for such a review. Logan also was concerned that names of people who volunteered for the election recount could be made public and those people could be "doxxed," and he also said some of the information Cyber Ninjas collected should not be made public, such as images of Dominion voting machines. Images of Dominion voting machines are beyond the scope of the public records requests from The Republic to the Senate and Cyber Ninjas. Logan said it could take a significant amount of time to review the documents to determine what should be released as part of the lawsuit, Hoffman said."
Article from December 2021. Poll: Just 1 in 4 Americans want Biden or Trump to run again in 2024 excerpt: "Eager for a change after years of conflict and upheaval, most Americans do not want either Donald Trump or Joe Biden to run for president again in 2024, according to a new Yahoo News/YouGov poll. The survey of 1,558 U.S. adults, which was conducted from Dec. 9 to 13, found that just 22 percent want Biden to launch another White House bid. A mere 27 percent want Trump to try for a second term. Nearly six in 10 — an unusually robust consensus at a time of deep political divisions — say they’re opposed to a Trump campaign (59 percent) or a Biden campaign (57 percent) in 2024. The rest — 14 percent in Trump’s case, 22 percent in Biden’s — say they’re not sure."
