You'll probably find it much better if you use FULL FAT milk, but 'Birds' also make an 'INSTANT' version, where you don't even need milk, just boil a kettle of water !!!
i've seen the instant packets on amazon; haven't found it locally (maybe hiding somewhere at cost plus?) is "full fat" the same as what we'd call "whole" milk here or 2%?
Whole milk. Use slightly less than a pint also - makes nice thick custard. Although I have a recipe for making your own custard. Anyway, I use a tin of evaporated milk, when using Birds custard.
ahhhh yes the art of making custard ,and getting it the right thickness ,without lumps ,nobody likes lumpy custard ? right
We have many European foods in the UK. Difficult to find any British restaurant. Only Carveries, that I know of.
One way of getting a full roast dinner, but I prefer to do my own - then whatever remains of the beef joint, afterwards, I make a stew with for the next couple of days.
Sorry matey, you've got to get up very early to catch me - I'm normally up and about around 06.00 am which, across the 'pond' would still be 01.00 EST.
We call your biscuits cookies, but what do you guys over there call our baking powder biscuits (like in the picture)?
