One excuse the rioters forgot: "my dog made me do it." Makes about as much sense as the others.

His secret service detail doesn’t override the actions of DOJ, and if they try to- they’ll share a prison cell with The Donald. You do make a valid point though, especially with idea of a possible house arrest, if all this goes down. Yeah, he’ll be able to still preserve some dignity, and I hate that. House arrest is bullshit!!

House arrest is for the wealthy and privileged. However much money trump has--he does not deserve house arrest for trying to overthrow the democratic process. MF deserves a nice long prison sentence.

He claims to be an X Marine and 6'.8" tall. I think 6.8 is more like his IQ.

Just think about all the dudes in prison for a little weed or stealing $74 from some convenience store. They have his damn tax returns. You'd think they would read them by now?

Trump granted Stone clemency in July 2020.

Without the clemency, Stone would have been placed on a supervised two-year release

Apparently, Trump didn't pardon him at the time because he was trying to minimize negative effect on the upcoming 2020 election while at the same time keeping Stone's subversiveness available for the 2020 election and, later, the attempt to overthrow Trump's election loss.

Trump fully pardoned Stone In late December 2020 after the election,

    Romney's remark in July 2020:

"Unprecedented, historic corruption: an American president commutes the sentence of a person convicted by a jury of lying to shield that very president."

The damage inflicted by President Trump’s naiveté, egotism, false equivalence, and sympathy for autocrats is difficult to calculate. … “President Trump proved not only unable, but unwilling to stand up to Putin (and) made a conscious choice to defend a tyrant against the fair questions of a free press, and to grant Putin an uncontested platform to spew propaganda and lies to the world.”

You know man I don't remember all the shit he dished out the first two years. He stirred up so much confusion and legal issues that people don't seem to be able to keep with him. I now don't think one man's arrogant behavior could do all that. He must have had the Russia psychological warfare experts telling him what to do. Trump did have a secret server that was never made available to Mueller. He did have a Russian lawyer meet with his team in the Trump tower. He did speak with Maria Butina who also dated someone close to him and weaseled her way to the top of the NRA. We should all demand Russia Gate be reinvestigated.

The invasion of Ukraine calls into question what type of public relationship Trump will have with Putin if he runs in 2024.

    https://www.usnews.com/news/politic...ise-of-putin-america-first-view-tested-by-war

    excerpt:

"He mocked John McCain's capture during the Vietnam War, validated autocrats with his platitudes, questioned longtime military and security alliances and embraced an isolationist worldview. And to the horror of many GOP leaders at the time, it worked, resonating with voters who believed, in part, that a bipartisan establishment in Washington had brokered trade deals that hurt American workers and recklessly stumbled into so-called “forever wars.”

But Russia's brutal invasion of Ukraine is posing a serious test for Trump and his “America First” doctrine at a moment when he is eyeing another presidential run and using this year's midterm elections to keep bending the GOP to his will. He's largely alone in his sustained praise of Russian President Vladimir Putin as “smart,” an assessment he reiterated last week during speeches to donors and conservative activists. His often deferential vice president, Mike Pence, split with him on the issue late Friday.

The multinational partnerships that Trump repeatedly undermined, meanwhile, have allowed the West to quickly band together to hobble Russia's economy with coordinated sanctions. The NATO alliance, which Trump once dismissed as “obsolete,” is flexing its strength as a foil to Russia's aggression."

John Bolton just said the plan was to have Trump withdraw America from NATO during his second term. Then, Putin could do anything he wanted.

Trying to overthrow the democratic process should be considered treason. No way anyone would get house arrest if it were so.

Trump is back to attacking NATO (after he took credit for supposedly saving it) and is staying quiet about Putin who launched a massive crime against humanity (that Trump blames on NATO for not stopping).

Trump renews NATO criticism after Russia's invasion of Ukraine, and also says "vote counter" can be more important than candidate

    excerpt:

"And whereas Pence defended NATO in his remarks, Trump showed he still thinks little of the alliance, dismissing it as a "paper tiger," according to a source.

"Are all of these nations going to stand by and watch perhaps millions of people be slaughtered as the onslaught continues?" Trump said, according to a source. "At what point do countries say, 'No, we can't take this massive crime against humanity?' We can't let it happen. We can't let it continue to happen.""
