Will Putin capitulate? what kind of future does he have either way? The Russians were used to shortages and a meager life style but whats going on now has got to hurt

    Things are certainly looking precarious.
The Chess pieces are being placed in strategic position with a great game - it seems - about to begin

A 'True Believer' living in a self-created world of delusions, is almost impossible to change, (I speak here as a once-psychiatric-nurse).

Another term is 'Sociopath' (not psychopath), which is a person with no internal mental connection to other humans. They are simply 'things' and objects in the way.

It may be what we're dealing with here. And that's f******* scary.

"...The Chess pieces are being placed in strategic position...."

We (the west) are playing chess, but he's playing poker with what he thinks is a safe hand.

I’ve read that authoritarians are narcissist, sociopaths, and psychopaths.

I just don’t see how that can happen, even if they trucked them in. How many planes does Ukraine need or want?

The 27 Migs from Poland would more than double the Ukrainian's current fleet... (Which I think is, like 16... last I heard) and they know how to fly them.

I mean 10 planes would be a big deal for them.

Maybe fly them to Moldova, a non NATO country, then to Ukraine.

That would be extremely risky for Moldova. They would suffer Putin's wrath if they were seen as helping Zelenskyy.

I am beginning to think there should be a no fly zone. Call Putin’s bluff. Does he really want to risk a nuclear war?

Putin does not tolerate signs of weakness or defiance and is a over achiever so I think Putin would call any bluff and pull the trigger

Seems we're gambling on how far Putin is willing to go. Would he back down if threatened with WW III? He has already put his nuclear forces on alert, is that a bluff of his own? Or would he launch the missiles? And would the Russian military back him up in his insanity? Jesus Christ, how is this all going to play out?

I’m hoping for the leaders of Russia and Ukraine to speak and reason together to come to some sort of understanding and agreement that they are both satisfied with ....what certain event even led to this?

I’m not even sure a certain event can be pin pointed that led to this war ....so the conclusion is hard to determine
