Barr acknowledged Trump's relentless pettiness, his desire to overthrow a fair election, his insurrection at the Capitol that, to date, has left 11 people dead. He left his post in December 2020 in frustration right before the situation turned very ugly.

Yet, like Graham, McConnell, and McCarthy (whose office windows were smashed by Trump's rioters while he was on the phone with Trump who refused to help him), Barr indicates that he'd support Trump all over again if he wins the 2024 nomination.

 

McCarthy has refused to cooperate with the Jan. 6 committee because it would damage his defense of Trump whose dereliction of duty during his riot nearly cost McCarthy his life.
