Trump draws ire for dance at NRA convention after Texas school shooting excerpt: "Former President Donald Trump received a significant amount of backlash for dancing onstage at a National Rifle Association (NRA) conference on Friday in the aftermath of the Uvalde, Texas, school shooting. Trump spoke at the event, which was held in Houston, just three days after 18-year-old gunman Salvador Ramos killed 19 children and two teachers at Robb Elementary School. During his speech, the former president read out the names of all 21 victims, while mispronouncing some. Trump ended his talk, as he has done at numerous rallies in the past, by dancing. This final act drew significant ire from online pundits and the public, who viewed it as extremely disrespectful to the deceased victims. There had also been calls for politicians to cancel planned appearances at the conference in the wake of the shooting, with the state's Republican Governor Greg Abbott ultimately doing so."
Those two destroyed their planet with wars, not over black and white per se, but over which side of their face was white and which was black.
Chris Christie says Trump wants the GOP to be the 'party of me,' where 'everything has to be about him' excerpt: "After Trump was defeated by Biden in the general election and baselessly blamed his loss on widespread voter fraud, Christie over time morphed into a critic of the Trump campaign's legal strategy, especially when the Supreme Court in December 2020 declined to take up a GOP-backed lawsuit brought by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton over the validity of the results in several swing states. "The reason the Supreme Court is not taking this is not because of a lack of courage," Christie said at the time. "It's for the same reason that every court has thrown this out. It's a lack of evidence and a lack of any type of legal theory that makes any sense.""
It was a bad week for Trump's rioters whom he referred to at an NRA gathering this week as political prisoners. Two trials ended with guilty verdicts. A rioter received a 33 month prison sentence. A Proud Boys leader will remain in jail until trial. More rioters were arrested, including a Utah father and son. Trump’s ‘big lie’ hits cinemas: the film claiming to investigate voter fraud excerpt: "So it was that on a quiet Wednesday afternoon, a dozen people – most of them white and middle-aged or elderly – took their seats at Cinemark Fairfax Corner for a screening. Unusually and perhaps tellingly as the lights went down, there were no trailers for other movies. The main feature turned out to be more restrained than critics of the big lie might expect. Far-right film-maker and provocateur Dinesh D’Souza seeks to present himself as curious, innocent and reasonable – just asking questions – as he interviews commentators and “experts” about the conduct of the 2020 election. In fact, D’Souza is so determined to avoid the raucous tone of Trump’s rallies or Fox News’s opinion hosts that at times the 88-minute film is, surprisingly, just plain dull. But by the end he does emphatically conclude that the election was rigged and stolen by Democrats as an ominous, plaintive version of The Star-Spangled Banner swells."
Trump has convinced his followers so well that the 2020 election was rigged that some are actually upset with him for not taking action before the election to stop the rigging that his lies said would happen. Trump’s ‘big lie’ hits cinemas: the film claiming to investigate voter fraud “I thought it was spectacular,” said Joe Hughes, 67, who is self-employed. “Trump never stood a chance in that election.” Joyce Gould, 69, an accounting administrator, agreed: “When Trump talked about stuff that was going to happen, I didn’t have any reason to doubt him. I figured there was a lot of cheating going on. But when you actually see the details in the film as far as the geo-technology and all that kind of stuff? Sure. “I’m just surprised at the evil that is out there in the world. You always know it’s there, but when you actually hear the details of it, it’s just very astounding to me.” A man who gave his name only as Bill, and his age as above 50, described the film as “nauseating and extremely compelling if you have an open mind”. He insisted: “I’m a very objective person. If my own children were charged with a crime, I’d be on the jury. That’s how objective I am.” But he added: “My frustration is with Trump. He knew it was going to happen. He did nothing to stop it. That’s also very nauseating to me.”
Trump pardoned D'Souza. Trump’s ‘big lie’ hits cinemas: the film claiming to investigate voter fraud excerpt: "Critics also point out that D’Souza has form. He has spent years promoting disinformation. In 2007 he wrote wrote that “the cultural left is responsible for causing 9/11”. In 2014 he was convicted of violating federal election law by making illegal donations to a US Senate campaign only to be pardoned by Trump in 2018."

Trump's protesters at the Capitol were also disappointed with him when he told them to go home in peace and love after the riot. One woman on video said she felt betrayed when Trump told them to go home, seemingly thinking that they would have been successful in overturning the election if Trump had told them to stay. Leaks from the White House have indicated that Trump did several video takes to tell them to go home, possibly trying to find a way to praise them while telling them to leave so as to not upset them further than he had already done with his speech at the Ellipse.
If anything good can be said, the NRA gathering in Houston forced people like Cruz to stay in TX where they could be confronted about the school shooting instead of fleeing to a vacation in Mexico.
Trump was 'stunned' by Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger's Republican primary victory Former President Donald Trump was "stunned" by Brad Raffensperger's victory in the Georgia secretary of state Republican primary over his hand-picked candidate, conservative Rep. Jody Hice, Raffensperger, who rejected Trump's repeated entreaties to "find" additional votes to invalidate President Joe Biden's statewide win in November 2020, won last Tuesday's GOP primary with 52 percent of the vote, compared to 33 percent for Hice.
