If it's a true collector there can be special licensing for that...

If your "collection" is 50 identical military grade weapons and enough ammo for 50 guys, that is not a "collection", that is an armory.

Totally agree. That should send up some serious red flags!

The Indian philosopher Sadhguru had stated that the stress and strain on the average American's psyche is very high due to the highly demanding society they live in compared to other parts of the world, and cited that they need time and space for themselves to recover consequently, without which there are bound to be mental and social health issues.

What Causes Mental Illness? | Isha Sadhguru

This was also an insight shared by Bertrand Russel as well...

'Americans need rest, but do not know it. I believe this to be a large part of the explanation of the crime wave in the United States.' ~ Bertrand Russell

Too much of a load can break the camels back. Obviouly heavy stress is bound to bring negativity in the long run.

Imho, reduction in taxes, and more investment in upgrading the medical health infrastructure, reducing costs of housing, education, medical services and other vital aspects can greatly reduce the stress and mental toll on the common man, leading to reduction in such criminal incidents as well .

All the more reason to remove assault style weapons from the public and regulate other guns to a higher degree.

I refuse to believe that violent video games, movies, or back masking music for Satanic messages, is the cause for all these mass shootings and other violent criminal activity. If so, the number of cases would be substantially higher.

Exactly, unless you are predisposed to commit murder there's no number of violent movies, video games, or satanic heavy metal bands, you can watch, play, or listen to, that's going to make you go postal.

Probably. She most likely didn't waste time trying to decide what would be best and was comfortable and practiced with the first thing she could lay her hands on.

    Mulford Act - Wikipedia

Both Republicans and Democrats in California supported increased gun control, as did the National Rifle Association of America.[10] Governor Ronald Reagan, who was coincidentally present on the capitol lawn when the protesters arrived, later commented that he saw "no reason why on the street today a citizen should be carrying loaded weapons" and that guns were a "ridiculous way to solve problems that have to be solved among people of good will." In a later press conference, Reagan added that the Mulford Act "would work no hardship on the honest citizen."[3]

There is absolutely no justification to why military-style weapons, automatic and semi automatic weapons should be allowed to be purchased, possessed by the civilian populace. They should have never allowed that to happen, but it’s too late. I don’t agree that they should come and take them from you, but, anyone that owns these weapons need to legally register every single one of them, and gun manufacturers shouldn’t be allowed to continue to sell these weapons to the general public.

Agreed. But I think that article is simply trying to defend why AR-15s shouldn’t be banned. I’m confident that she is fully capable of accomplishing the same endstate, without a military style weapon.
