As Toe pointed out, I have been referring to the M16 as a AR 15. I do know the difference and history. It was a slight oversight on my part as I typed.

So somebody out there need 150 rounds to shoot a wild pig?

Now as the accessories to an AR 15....a heat shield helps to keep from getting burned as you shoot 100 rounds, a suppressor helps to target in low light situations, such as hunting wild pigs at night, and a grip helps control the gun when firing off 100 rounds....but all that just makes the gun more useful! For what? Not more deadly, just more useful. Maybe as a cane or something.

And no Armalite weapon comes with an automatic option. So what?

Great, next we arm the doctors and nurses, then the bus drivers, then the pizza delivery guy, auto mechanics, newsmen, etc. etc. guns for one and all.
    That'll solve it!

No it doesn't. There are many weapons that are highly regulated.

    Now it’s a choice,

Instead of being told no you can not……

Now it’s yes, if you so desire.

Sometimes, the well-being and security of society outweighs individual choice. I'd bet lots of Americans would just love to add machine guns to their collections, but Uncle Sam, the great kill joy, says No can do.I n April 1986, Congress, with the blessing of the NRA, decided to ban the sale of machine guns made after the date of passage. The law has stayed on the books ever since, and the nation and our rights have managed to survive..

Not A wild pig, 2-300 at a time. They're a huge problem for some people, Google can give you more info if you're interested.
So what? So stop saying an assault weapon needs an automatic setting while also calling the ar15 an assault weapon
Or just change your opinion on it in your next post. You decide.
The m16 platform is available with a fully automatic setting but because of a few subtle but significant differences it isn't nearly as popular as the ar15 platform in America.
And why on earth would anyone use a firearm as a cane when there are canes made specifically for that? 213808693_1890595257998711_5496507204358475667_n.jpg

The problem I have with gun culture is this very mentality, sir.

    "The face they make" ???

That is technically humor, but it's humor aimed at illustrating a penchant for violence and murdering a would-be foe (police or administrative officials as it were who may attempt to claim weapons now deemed legally in question or something)...

    Anti-establishment violent rhetoric.

I have to disagree, and you see this is my argument. That mentality is flawed and makes people susceptible to using the very same rhetoric to condone a variety of negative behaviors; mass shootings among them.

    -----

I honestly think it's gun culture that needs changing. Not gun law reform where we have a group publicly carrying to rebel or something, no. Some law is appropriate and an overly limiting legislative structure introduces a pretty weird precedent.

But I think America needs guidance. I hope that the NRA and gun enthusiast magazines and websites take the challenge. Let's change the conversation, the narrative if you will, and let's change the culture.

    ------

Lethal force. It's peace of mind to sleep with a gun in fingerprint operated safe by my bedstand. But how lethal a weapon do I need for protecting my home from an intruder?

Naturally the people that do not respect the law (bad guys) will acquire anything they want….anything….

Well you're always good for laugh.
I guess I better arm up for those 300 pigs coming over the hill.

Never said an assault weapon needs an automatic setting. I said assault weapon is a legal term.
An AR 15 is designated an assault weapon in several jurisdictions past and present.
    For example:
What is the definition of an “assault weapon” in California?

Why on Earth would anyone need an AR 15 with useless appendages?

This is textbook seeing only what you want to see so that you can be outraged by it.
Those are clearly "redcoats", and and the meme points to the anti tyrannical and revolutionary spirit that worked perfectly and let's you be the frightened marshmallow you are today.

    well...

i think my "textbook outrage" is pretty accurate.

Your joke makes light of the violence we are talking about. The political cartoon with the dead people and "their faces"

    EDIT:

sorry! It isn't a cartoon, really:
