I compartmentalize! Places where I work, where I live and family - I never ever flirt. Like never! It is my code. (PS: My dad and his sister-in-laws flirted all the time, they are country folks)
Other places I flirt ONLY if the other person makes eye contact, smile/nod, or greet. If not, I take that as a clue NOT to flirt.
Once in home depot, I couldn't help slightly staring at this gorgeous cashier. Her skin and her dark curly hair. I wasn't creepy but it is obvious I was adoring her.
When she handed the receipt to me, I couldn't take it because she was holding it tight.
Then I looked at her and she looked at me, I had to pull, look again, pull before she let it go.
All with a gentle smile on her face.
One of the memorable human interactions.

As I am a gentleman I always greet my lady friends with a kiss on the right cheek, a couple on the lips . The latter is initiated by the lady normally . Its all part of being friendly with the fairer sex .
