It would be nice to see Trump in jail, but personally, I don't care if that happens or not. It also doesn't matter if he isn't forced to pay a fine. My only wish is that he be declared ineligible to run for public office, as per the 14th amendment, section 3 of the Constitution. Let him live his life in disgrace even as his supporters continue to claim he was cheated out of victory in the 2020 election.

Then again, it would be interesting (and ironic) if Congress did keep him off the ballot. I presume that tens of millions of Republican voters would still write him in as their choice for president in '24.. Obviously, it's absurd to think he could win the election in this instance, given that his presence on the ballot would only be taking votes away from the true GOP candidate, thereby insuring a Democratic victory. Yet, if Trump did somehow manage to get more votes that either of the other people running, he still couldn't serve as president, could he?

What would happen? Would all his right-wing supporters answer with the violent action they seem to be clamoring for?
