McCarthy was on the phone pleading with Trump for help during the riot as the windows of his office were being smashed by Trump's rioters.

After the riot, he said he had enough of Trump and wanted him out of office.

A few weeks later, he met with Trump at Mar-a-Lago and once again was his buddy.

McCarthy and Pence were in danger of being physically beaten and killed on Jan. 6, similar to Fanone who actually was injured badly.

Yet Pence and McCarthy are still defending Trump.

Nearly two years after the insurrection, Pence made a lukewarm statement that he thinks Trump might have been out to harm him.

 

McCarthy refused to not have Banks and Jordan on the Jan. 6 committee. He pulled the other three GOP members and walked away altogether from the committee.

The Republicans had previously rejected a bipartisan commission.

A committee was the next best alternative and McCarthy rejected it.
