Corcoran is invoking attorney-client privilege in the DOJ investigation about Trump's handling of classified documents. Giuliani, Cippolone, and Philbin claimed attorney-client privilege and lost in court. They were questioned about Trump's attempt to overthrow the 2020 election. Lindsey Graham claimed legislative immunity and lost in court. Mike Pence has been subpoenaed by the DOJ. He could claim executive privilege and also, like Graham, legislative immunity because as VP he oversaw the Senate during Trump's term which included counting the electoral votes (the ones Trump wanted him to dismiss so that the election could be overthrown).

And they’ll most certainly lose it in 2024. They won’t get the popular vote again for a long time. One of the main reasons they got the popular vote in 2004 is because of the Global War on Terrorism, and the desire for strong national security.
That was about Blanton's situation during the Capitol riot. The same could be said about Trump (who appointed Blanton).
The way the GOP 2024 presidential campaign is shaping up, it looks like a main component of the platform will be the Global War On pink-haired communist teachers corrupting the minds of the children, which should be fought with the GOP indoctrinating children with its version of the Judao-Christian faith. It doesn't sound like it will be as effective as the GOP platform during the first few years after the 9/11 attack, which kept Americans in an ideological stupor for years (until the Great Recession slapped everyone back to reality, at least temporarily). Trump later capitalized off the post-Great Recession years by appealing to those who felt left behind by the Great Recovery. He placed them in an ideological stupor (like the one after 9/11) to an extent that they became the same as those who attacked NY and DC on 9/11.
DeSantis responds to Trump's latest attack: 'Don't spend my time trying to smear other Republicans' “I spend my time delivering results for the people of Florida and fighting against Joe Biden — That's how I spend my time," DeSantis said. What a sad commentary on our political times. Yes, political partisanship has existed since the inception of our country but it's tragic (and so damaging) that politicians designating POTUS as their enemy has become the prevailing method of separating one party from the other. Presumably, what DeSantis is talking about fighting Biden on is.......everything. Everything he says, does or believes. Everything he stands for. Presumably, even if Biden is espousing an issue that would be beneficial for the country, DeSantis is going to fight him on it. He said so. What's good for the people of the U.S. is inconsequential......DeSantis is interested only what benefits the Republican party (and himself). Especially at a time that we need lawmakers that are interested in bringing us all together, we get this guy telling us that his mission is to fight Biden on.......everything. Yet, the only choice on the GOP side is Donald Trump? What a mess.
