The casual racism and bigotry displayed by relaxx (et al.) is an unambiguous and incontrovertible violation of this forum's Terms of Service.

Racism and bigotry have no place here, or anywhere, for that matter.

Discussing this Gaza war, of course, lead into the delving into Jews and Muslims, Judaism and Islam.

We are talking about HUMAN BEINGS; their religions/ethnic backgrounds are secondary, important and vital as they are.

Is a Muslim any less of a human being because he is a Muslim?

Is a Jew any less of a human being because he is a Jew?

I truly believe it is long past the time of right away focusing on the religious/racial/ethnic differences between people, and, FIRST and FOREMOST, saying:

"Hey, these are HUMAN BEINGS......these are PEOPLE who are enduring tremendous suffering and hardship."

Bigotry and ignorance are one and the same.

Let us now focus on the innocent people who are caught in the crosshairs, often losing their homes, all they own, and, all too often, their very lives.

One way or the other, we HAVE to remember this:

"There is but ONE race.....the HUMAN race."

There never was a war thar that was NOT ugly.

War is but a feast for vultures.

So many innocents caught in all of this carnage.

The old adage "war is hell" is spot-on.............

What's happening in Palestine isn't that mysterious. For every Kfar Aza and Nahal Oz, Palestinians vividly remember dozens of Deir Yassins, Nasir al-Dins, Al-Tanturas, Sabra and Shatilas, dating back to before the Nakba. Israel is a de jure racist apartheid state which since 2000 has maintained a better than 5:1 kill ratio against the Palestinians...adult Palestinians. Their kill ratio against Palestinian children is 17:1, including documented cases of their use by the IDF as human shields, sniper targets, and organic IED detectors. Don't for a moment kid yourself that Hamas are the only barbarians in play.
That's in what passes in the Middle East for peacetime; in 2014, the kill ratio was greater than 30:1. Gaza is the world's largest concentration camp; with over 2.2 million people imprisoned upon 17 square miles of land. When Netanyahu warns Palestinians to "get out of the way", he knows bloody well that they can't; they've no place to go. They are routinely subjected to sniper fire, shelling, deprivation of water, food, electricity, and medical supplies. Since 2000 and prior to last week approximately 30 Israelis had been killed by home-made rockets from Gaza; over 4,000 Palestinians were killed by retaliatory (and indiscriminate) air attack; Gaza has no aircraft and no air defense artillery. Collective punishment, targeting civilians, and the withholding of humanitarian aid are all war crimes according to the Geneva Convention, but Israel has another thing the Palestinians lack; a great big veto-proof fig leaf courtesy of one of the permanent members of the U.N. Security Council...and an explicit carte blanche from Joe Biden. Israel is subsidized by the U.S. to the tune of four billion four hundred eighteen million five hundred eighty thousand dollars annually (plus 1.5-2 billion dollars annually in charitable donations; did you know that the IDF is a 501(c)(3)?) That's $270 billion since it's inception; the largest beneficiary of American largesse in history despite comprising only .1% of the global population (meanwhile in America our teachers have to buy their own pencils). Israel has 253 combat aircraft (including the largest fleet of F-16's outside the U.S., and 36 F-35's), 170 helicopters, 2,200 tanks, 56,290 APC/ACVs, 12,050 pieces of artillery...and around 90 nuclear weapons and the fissionable material to rapidly make about 200 more. By contrast, Gaza has no air defenses, no aircraft, and no armor; only their glorified home-made bottle rockets and 1950's vintage small arms. Unless Biden can negotiate safe passage via a humanitarian corridor to Egypt (good luck with that); fish in the proverbial barrel; Netanyahu's wet dream of a 'Final Solution' to the Palestinian problem.

Why would the Palestinians of Gaza elect Hamas, instead of a tame Israeli Quisling and hand-picked martinet of the United States like the impotent Mahmoud Abbas? Because after years of deprivation, displacement, and unspeakable barbarity inflicted upon them by the Israelis, Hammas offers the only thing left to them; if not justice, revenge.

Tolerance, for the sake of political correctness, towards a fundamentally intolerant oppressive people. That's vicarious intolerance and oppression. Palestine had the option to to coexist with Israelis 70 years ago. Instead they chose insistent violence. These people have been trying to wipe the Jewish race off the planet for over a thousand years. Thousands of years of horrific genocidal violence, over a miserable patch of dirt.

Transportation in the war zone has essentially ground to a halt, amid all the carnage and mass destruction.

As I am also a transportation enthusiast/historian, I though it might be of interest to show the main bus terminal in Jerusalem, much like the Port authority Terminal in Manhattan.

Note in the one photo, you can see a "TOWER RECORDS" shop in the main concourse., indeed a "slice of home", to any American abroad.

Buses, indeed, are a lifeline to many cities and towns for many thousands........

As one might expect, airline travel has also greatly been affected, due to the conflict.

El Al (the premier flagship airline of Israel since the late 1940's) is the only airline in the world to equip its airliners with missile-defense systems.....

My dear friend, if we are talking about the present conflict between Israel and Gaza it doesn't mean we are against or support either side, we talk because we as people no matter who we are, we have suffered of the present situation not only in Middle East but also all around the world , because the world now is a big village where all the people of the world live in this village, so we are a big family and we can not ignore unpleasant things which happen around our families. We as the human or the world people reacted to what happened in Ukraine and now the same happens in Gaze and Israel. If we like to talk honestly we should not judge by our personal benefits that's why a good judge should be a blind person to judge correctly.

Recall, now, the oft-parodied Disney tune, "It's A Small World".

The jet airliner, as no other means of transportation ever has, indeed has made the world a very small place.

Think of our world as one huge "Epcot", a place where untold numbers of races, cultures, and heritages all come together, a place where we WISH (like the little animated figures in the famed Disney attraction) we could all live in a Utopia of peace, brotherhood, and harmony.

Of course, this will never become a reality.

They also say, "....and a little child shall lead them....."

Why not look at the world.....and its peoples......as children do.......with wonder, curiosity, and innocence?

Before getting deep into the "blame game", why not consider not only the children (those sadly killed, but those still alive, living in total fear.

Too, think of the children here at home.

On a New York news show this AM, a doctor was interviewed, on how parents should discuss the current war with their children, what to censor, and what to (or what not to) discuss.

If our children today are tomorrow's adults, it is up to all of us that they have an understanding of what is going on today, and how they could change the world for the better in future years, as adults.............

Religious intolerance is the biggest evil on the planet, dividing, not uniting.

I'm not talking about people not liking a specific religion, I'm saying the religions themselves are most often intolerant of other religions and non-religious and make a point of it.

Let's see, historically they've demonized, dehumanized, enslaved, hung, burned, committed genocide, burned books, tortured, beheaded, impaled, started violent jihads and crusades, destroyed other houses of worship, caused diasporas, raped children, murdered how many LGBT+ people, taught racism, denied human rights, demonized sex, conned their own flocks, lied and covered up crimes against humanity, and so much more we will never know about.

And the worse part is THIS IS ALL STILL HAPPENING TODAY! And people still give these inhumane entities their hard earned money.

Sorry, but the brainwashing of the masses must end or we are doomed.
