Every so often, there's a glimmer of hope that a Trump fan has finally realized Trump's nature and have turned away from him.

But then they go back to him once more, seemingly upset with those who helped them see what he actually is, as if the bearers of the bad news weren't sufficiently polite when presenting it to them.

The QAnon Shaman is an example. After being released from prison, he's right back it attending the Turning Point USA gathering dressed in his costume and posing for photos with Trump co-defendant Kutti and House member Greene.

G.W. Bush, trying to proclaim he couldn't be fooled, couldn't even properly say the adage about not getting fooled again.

Colorado, Maine, and the 14th Amendment’s Enforcement Problem

    excerpt:

"Second, the National Republican Senatorial Committee filed its own Supreme Court brief in the Colorado case, making an argument we haven’t talked about yet:

While the text of the 14th Amendment says that a covered person can’t hold office, it doesn’t say anything about running for office. And since the amendment also says that Congress can “by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability,” who is to say what the deadline is for Congress to decide? Surely, the argument goes, lawmakers don’t need to vote on the person before that person has won a single primary.

Their argument would be that the 20th Amendment, which says that “if the President elect shall have failed to qualify, then the Vice President elect shall act as President until a President shall have qualified,” means that it’s up to Congress—and only Congress—to decide whether someone is disqualified under the 14th Amendment after being elected but before taking the oath of office.

This would be another offramp for the U.S. Supreme Court, which could hold that the provision of the 14th Amendment was meant to be enforceable only by Congress—after an election—and that states have no role in deciding who is eligible to be president. And if you think that sounds a little batty (“Wait? So a state has to let a 12-year-old on the ballot?”), they’ve got some answers for how that might be different.

At least a few legal eagles think this is likely the route the Supreme Court will take overturning the Colorado decision. But why guess when we can just wait!"

Kari Lake is like a copy of Trump.

After losing another court judgement in December 2023, Kari Lake has filed a special action appeal to try to stop the defamation case against her by Richer.

Maricopa County Recorder Stephen Richer filed a defamation suit against her stemming from false remarks she made about him pertaining to the 2022 election that she lost.

Lake's lawyers have said that the remarks were merely hyperbole.

After Biden's remarks, Trump says Biden is the true threat and calls him Benedict Arnold.

Trump fires back at Jan. 6 criticism, says Biden is a 'true threat to democracy'

    excerpt:

"Joe Biden is the worst president in the history of the United States — he is incompetent, he is crooked, and in many respects, he is Benedict Arnold," Trump told Fox News Digital. "He is destroying our country like no one else has done before."

‘What a Sick…’: Biden Draws Huge Crowd Reaction Slamming Trump For Joking About Violent Attacks

    excerpt:

“You know, Trump and his MAGA supporters not only embrace political violence, but they laugh about it. At his rally, he jokes about an intruder whipped up by the big Trump ally, taking a hammer to Paul Pelosi’s skull and echoing the very same words used on January 6th, ‘Where’s Nancy?’

“And he thinks that’s funny. He laughed about it. What a sick…” Biden said to laughter from the crowd.

    “My God,” Biden declared, concluding.

An order for 10,000 troops would have entailed significant official action by him and/or governors before such troops could be ready to deploy and that it would have been in the records (the ones he's now claiming Congress destroyed).

Trump posits that orders by him happen by simply 'thinking about it'.

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/poli...deleted-evidence-jan-6-troops-there-isnt-any/

    excerpt:

"In a footnote, she elaborated: “Trump, as commander of the D.C. National Guard, only had direct authority over around 2,000 Guardsmen. To mobilize 10,000-20,000 Guardsmen, he would have had to contact the Governors of other States and they would have had to then give orders, or he would have had to federalize the Guardsmen from those States. In either case, there would have been significant official action taken. No record of such action was produced at the Hearing.”"

Trump used the National Guard to quash protestors he didn't like, such as those affiliated with Black Lives Matter.

He did it by going to states with Republican governors and saying that the troops would be used on training missions, a loophole that allowed them to be deployed to other states without invoking the Insurrection Act, which would have looked bad politically for Trump.

It allowed their use in states run by Democratic governors who wouldn't cooperate with Trump.

At a CNN town hall event in May 2023, Trump kept denying Miller's statements that Trump didn't order 10,000 troops.

READ: Transcript of CNN's town hall with former President Donald Trump | CNN Politics

    excerpt:

COLLINS: Well, Chris Miller was your acting defense secretary. He says you never gave that order.

But back to what happened on that day, he said you weren’t…

TRUMP: He did not say that.

COLLINS: You – he has testified that, Mr. President.

TRUMP: He did not say that.

Giuliani also petitioned the court for more time for his defense in GA.

A judge denied it this week.

It's been about four months since his indictment.

Giuliani spends time regularly on long-winded, fringe, right-wing podcasts.
