Lies and deflection from Trump during the debate.

But he said it with conviction.

Trump has plenty of conviction. 34 felony convictions.

Trump and his supporters have egg on their face for promoting conspiracy narratives that Biden would be jacked up on performance-enhancing drugs for the debate.

They'll concoct another truther narrative to explain their failure.

Wiki article about Admiral Stockdale who became the butt of jokes after the 1992 VP debate.

    James Stockdale - Wikipedia

    excerpt:

"In a 1994 HBO comedy special, Dennis Miller gave an impassioned defense of Stockdale's debate performance:[31]

Now I know (Stockdale's name has) become a buzzword in this culture for doddering old man, but let's look at the record, folks. The guy was the first guy in and the last guy out of Vietnam, a war that many Americans, including your new President, chose not to dirty their hands with. He had to turn his hearing aid on at that debate because those fucking animals knocked his eardrums out when he wouldn't spill his guts. He teaches philosophy at Stanford University, he's a brilliant, sensitive, courageous man. And yet he committed the one unpardonable sin in our culture: he was bad on television."

The GOP in Texas is aware of the demographics changing in favor of Democrats and has implemented selective disenfranchisement tactics that target Harris County which contains the Houston area.

In Texas, GOP voting bills zero in on Democratic Houston

Texas Republicans target state’s largest city with voting restrictions

Our View: Why are Texas Republicans making it harder for people to vote?

Trump once again uses the executive privilege claim and Judge Cannon entertains it again.

Judge orders hearing to consider tossing key evidence in Trump classified docs case

    excerpt:

"The judge heard arguments on the defense motion to suppress the evidence during a sealed hearing on Tuesday morning. In Thursday's order she wrote that she considered prosecutors' concerns that the hearing could "devolve into a 'mini trial'" -- but she said she would impose "reasonable limitations" on the hearing, which could include witness testimony."

Judge Cannon's 'reasonable limitations' remain to be seen.

Cannon already let Ed Meese into the courtroom and testify on Trump's behalf after simply filing an amicus brief.

Meese isn't even an attorney on the case. He's retired and 92 years old.

Biden should have hit Trump hard at the first debate and demanded that he explain what he was doing for hours at the White House private dining room while the violence ensued at the Capitol during his insurrection.

When the moderator asked Trump about the insurrection, he deflected to the U.S. Mexico border wall, as if the real problem of terrorism is over there and not Trump and his rioters who terrorized the U.S. Capitol.

The media should be hitting Trump on this issue and calling for him to step down. He's now a convicted felon who tried to overthrow the U.S. government and caused hundreds of injuries and ultimately 13 deaths with his insurrection. Instead, the NY Times and other medial outlets are calling for Biden to step down while staying quiet about Trump.

See how swell of a guy Trump is? Here he is ready to pardon all these Antifa saboteurs who dressed up like MAGA Republicans and stormed the capital to make MAGA look bad, and now he is trying to pardon them and help them Despite how it looks for him!

Was there ever a leader that was so willing to forgive and compassionate about the cause of others? I think not----except for one other leader: Adolph Hitler when he temporarily removed all the Anti-Semitic signs and propaganda in Germany during the 1936 Olympics.

The media should ask Trump to spell the word 'insurrection'.

After failing to be able to spell it correctly (and perhaps not able to pronounce it correctly), they can praise Trump for being close and for Trump defiantly believing his mistake to be the correct spelling (like how he claims his mistakes of calling Biden 'Obama' are intentional).

Trump may not be able to spell 'insurrection' but he knows how to underhandedly implement one against his own government.

Now the media can say that's real conviction and leadership.

SCOTUS rejects a legal interpretation underlying Capitol riot charges

    excerpt:

"The more serious threat to that prosecution is the litigation over whether—and, if so, to what extent—Trump is immune from criminal charges based on his "official acts" as president. The Supreme Court is expected to rule on that question this Monday. But with just four months to go before the presidential election, it seems likely that, even if the Court clears the way, any trial would begin after that contest is decided. If Trump wins the election, as he seems poised to do right now, he surely will find a way to make the case disappear."

Lack of accountability on the debate stage for Trump and his insurrection.

    https://thehill.com/homenews/ap/ap-...debate-stage-that-alarms-democracy-advocates/

    excerpt:

“We are four months away from the first presidential election since a violent attack on our Capitol. … And the man responsible for that — Donald Trump — is currently the leading candidate,” said Ian Bassin, executive director of the advocacy group Protect Democracy, which works to counter authoritarianism.

“You’d think that alone would be disqualifying, or at a minimum would be the central focus of the election,” he said.

Carville thought Trump would drop out.

Now Carville is calling for Biden to drop out.

James Carville Says Biden ‘Can’t Continue’ and Won’t Be the Nominee

    excerpt:

"Thursday’s debate was a jarring affair for Democrats. Biden repeatedly stumbled over his words and struggled to express his thoughts. At one point he meandered through his response before bizarrely declaring, “We finally beat Medicare.”

After the debate, former Obama adviser David Axelrod not-so-subtly suggested Biden should not run again when he told a pair of Republican strategists, “If for whatever reason there’s a change at the top of the ticket, you guys are in trouble."
