Cannon is like a troll on a web forum who trolls enough to annoy people and do damage but not quite enough to be banned.

If the Trump classified documents case is reinstated, Judge Aileen Cannon would be difficult to remove

    excerpt:

"Cannon has no doubt been antagonistic toward the special counsel’s classified documents case.

She’s taken swipes at the Smith team in previous rulings and suggested that fringe Trump theories that would hamstring the prosecution could play a role in an eventual trial. The way she has managed her docket has kept the case at a snail’s pace, playing into Trump’s strategy of delay.

However, before Monday, her decisions on major motions mostly sided with the prosecutors – even as she weaved in jabs at their tactics – and she had avoided ruling on some of the most contentious issues in the case.

While Cannon’s approach to the case has attracted criticism, the current circumstances don’t resemble past scenarios that have seen trial judges reassigned by the 11th Circuit."

If the Trump classified documents case is reinstated, Judge Aileen Cannon would be difficult to remove

    excerpt:

"But several veteran attorneys who practice in that circuit told CNN that the appeals court would be unlikely to grant such a request, even though Cannon’s justification for throwing out the prosecution was widely panned by legal scholars.

“What we have here are adverse rulings and her not resolving the case quickly,” said Jon Sale, a criminal defense attorney in Florida who served on the Watergate prosecution team. “The adverse rulings are not a basis for removal, and timing is in the broad discretion of the trial court.”

That means Smith’s best possible outcome might be that the appeals court reverses Cannon’s ruling invalidating his appointment, the Supreme Court lets that stand and several months from now – assuming Trump is not elected to the White House this November – the criminal case can pick up right where it left off, in front of Cannon, a Trump-appointed judge in Fort Pierce, Florida, who has shown no eagerness to get the proceedings to trial."

Mark Kelly suggested as the VP for Harris who would replace Biden.

His wife is a shooting survivor.

Opinion: The Democrats Need a Hero. They Actually Already Have One

    excerpt:

"Instead of combing over the same names, it made sense to try some reverse engineering and lay out the credentials that would complement Harris while adding general appeal and electability. Those qualities include:

    Someone from a swing state

Gender, race and compelling origin story

    Military experience/patriotism

    Devoted to their family

    Foreign policy experience

Someone who’d want the job and gets along with Harris

Considering all this, only one name checks all the boxes: Senator Mark Kelly.

Kelly has represented swing state Arizona since December 2020 when he defeated incumbent Martha McSally. He won his last election in 2022, dispensing with Peter Thiel protege Blake Masters. A proud centrist, Kelly is bipartisan, especially when it comes to border policy. Arizona has been leaning blue since John McCain died, but Krysten Sinema’s choice to cozy up to Wall Street has placed that in jeopardy. Kelly on the ticket might increase the odds of Democrat Ruben Gallego sliding into Sinema’s seat in November."

Hinckley condemns assassination attempt on Trump.

Yahoo is part of the Yahoo family of brands

    excerpt:

"Hinckley pled insanity at his trial and was found not guilty on all 13 charges, but was placed under psychiatric care.

Hinckley was fully released from court restrictions on June 15, 2022 and has since started a music career."

Trump's followers say he was saved by God.

Trump describes turning his head perfectly to survive the shooting, like he is God.

    Conspiracies abound in the public.

One of Trump's companies is selling special edition assassination survival sneakers for $299 to give people the opportunity to feel like they are a member of the survival club.

Nothing seems to have changed significantly, except perhaps Trump capitalizing off an assassination attempt (that killed one person and injured three) by selling Trump sneakers.

Trump is now a member of the mass shooting survivor’s club – will it change anything?

    excerpt:

"Now, he is looking forward with hope that the near-killing of the leader of the Republican party will push lawmakers to build the trust among themselves needed to pass gun policies at the state and federal levels."

    It won't.

The GOP and Trump with his wounded ear will dig their trenches deeper, defend gun ownership, and call for more guns to protect people.

GOP members in Congress will wear more lapel pins of an AR-15 (the gun that was used to shoot Trump) in the name of supporting Trump, like they already did in February 2023 just have multiple instances of mass shootings.

Will anything change now that Trump is now a member of the mass shooting survivor's club.

    excerpt:

"The only similarity Hogg saw between the Parkland shooting and Trump’s assassination attempt was the deluge of conspiracies, speculation and misinformation that have become commonplace following high-profile shootings at Parkland and Sandy Hook elementary school in Newtown, Connecticut. “This is America, people love conspiracy theories in general,” he said."

Santos was one of the people wearing an AR-15 pin.

He has since been expelled from Congress for fraud in December 2023. He was too much of an embarrassment to the GOP to carry forward into the 2024 presidential election year..

Others who were wearing the pin include Clyde and Luna.

Santos is one of only three members of Congress who has been expelled since the Civil War era.

    https://www.cnn.com/2024/07/18/politics/trump-assassination-attempt-merchandise-rnc/index.html

    excerpt:

"Christina Holbrook, who came to the RNC from her home in Cincinnati, purchased a similar shirt from another, nearby vendor.

“When Donald Trump put his fist up and mentioned ‘fight, fight, fight’ – that’s what we (in this movement) feel we need to do,” Holbrook said. “We’re in a fight for our life and in the United States at this point. So, this will sell.”

Another would-be customer, Mississippi Republican Party chair Mike Hurst, was on his way inside with his wife when he spotted the “FEARLESS” t-shirts. Hurst already purchased one online, he said, a day earlier."

Boris Johnson's statement shows that he's not even certain that Trump will be on the side of Ukraine.

Johnson said he thinks Trump will be on the side of Ukraine and has faith in him.

Gaetz taunts McCarthy at RNC convention while he is trying to ralk with people.

Matt Gaetz and Kevin McCarthy's feud erupts at Republican convention

    excerpt:

"The feud between former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., and Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., continued on the Republican National Convention floor Tuesday evening as Gaetz tried to taunt his former colleague.

Gaetz approached McCarthy on the convention floor in Milwaukee as McCarthy seemed to be speaking with other people. Gaetz repeatedly tapped his shoulder and said: "What night are you speaking? Are you speaking tonight?"

Someone seemed to shoo Gaetz away, but he didn't back down.

"Hey, if you took that stage, you would get booed off of it," he said. "You would get booed off the stage."

As Gaetz walked away, another man on the convention floor could be heard saying: "Shut up, Gaetz. Don't be an a—hole.""

    McCarthy's response to Gaetz:

“His name's Matt Gaetz. He didn't do it because he dislikes me, but he did it because he has an Ethics complaint because he paid to sleep with an underage girl. And he wanted me to stop the Ethics [committee],”

Trump could have expanded his appeal to other groups such as suburban women by selecting Haley, but he chose to go with a clone of himself, Vance, who is half his age..

Why did Republican Donald Trump choose JD Vance as his vice president?

    excerpt:

"Experts say the decision marked a shift in strategy for Trump. While Trump’s previous running mate, Mike Pence, was seen as a moderating influence in his campaign, his new selection signals an embrace of hard-right “Make America Great Again” politics — and a break from the old-school Republican establishment.

On Wednesday, Vance himself made the argument for a more brazen future for the Republican Party, as he gave a nominating speech at the Republican National Convention."

Why did Republican Donald Trump choose JD Vance as his vice president?

    excerpt:

"Vance was not always so closely aligned with Trump. In the past, Vance described himself as a “Never Trump guy” and even called the former president “reprehensible” and “an idiot”.

In a 2016 screenshot widely shared on social media, Vance even told a friend he could not decide whether Trump was a “cynical a**hole” or “America’s Hitler”".

The merchants at Trump's rallies can sell bullets along with T-shirts showing Trump's bloodied face and fist pump.

It's like Sonny Bono, the suicide bomber in the comedy movie Airplane, buying his bomb at the airport.

Bono at the airport kiosk: "I'll have a newspaper, a pack of Lifesavers, and that first bomb on the left."
