You’re absolutely right. If Biden chooses to step down for health concerns and gets behind who he thinks could beat Trump, I will vote for the democratic nominee. More than likely that nominee would be VP Harris- the one who has been there with Joe. I would vote for Kamala Harris. But if it gets absolutely ridiculous and the Dems try to put someone over Kamala,I’m out! It’s bullshit. Oh, and by the way, if this goes south and Trump wins, don’t allow “the boot heel of fascism to crush you”……FIGHT!!

We will see, but this is probably what’s going to happen: This country (and I’m saying this as an African American citizen) is not ready for a black female president, and it will be evident during the Democrat National Convention next month, when they try to put another candidate over her, throwing the party into even more chaotic disarray. Voter enthusiasm will decline because of this. I hope like hell this won’t happen, but I do not have fait that Dems will be able to unify the party with this sudden change - 90 DAYS OUT!!!

I think if the Black woman in question was Michelle Obama the democrats would have a slam dunk.

But too many younger voters dislike Harris. They see her as a cop. I know several twentysomethings that will not vote for her because of that. And I'm talking trans women here--some of ther very people in Project 2025's crosshairs. They're willing to take their chances with that than vote for "a cop."

 

V. P. Harris is the current representative of our current administration and is the co-recepient of all of the votes of 14 million Democratic primary voters. and of monetary donations.

V.P. Harris deserves the respect of all Americians. Our VP was given a tough mission by Biden as Border Czar.

Repeating my prior assertion that Joe Biden deserves Immunity from law-fare prosecution for any and all inproprieties during his public service.

Sorry Eric but after the debate it became clear that Biden wasn't up to the task for four more years. He did a remarkable job in his term of repairing the damage done by four years of Trump, but it's time for him to step down and retire. Let's put our full support behind Kamala Harris because the thought of another Trump term scares the shit out of me!

 

At least the Republicans get a primary to pick their candidate. We get soviet style appointments by the party insiders. Screw them no primary then no vote from me.

Never in 1000 years will I vote for Cacking Kamala the prosecutor cop. Never.

 

Forgive me for being from the UK but, I think, this applies globally ( in countries where democracy is said to prevail).
The weakest link in democracy, is the electorate.
This may be an election where people should decide on who to vote for based on who's the least bad.
If you're not inspired or encouraged by either, I hope you choose the least worst.
It's often said that if America sneezes, we get a cold.
Indeed it'll be more than just the UK with the cold - or indeed the plague - if you pick the wrong President.

The whole western world could catch it, by which I mean, the president of Bellendistan and other less-west countries will become more powerful, which will cost the US much much more in the long term, when they do what they will whilst the US is in disarray.

I hope your nation makes the better choice.

I should add that, if you believe what either candidate in the actual election campaign says without actually checking it's not BS but instead is accurate, you'll be part of that group of electorate who are the problem with democracy. Just because a candidate says something, that doesn't mean it's true!

Typically when the chosen candidate enters the race this late in the game, they lose. But this time it's different, the opponent is Donald Trump. There are plenty of voters who are sick of him but felt forced to vote for him because they lost confidence in Biden. Let's see if Kamala can knock Trump down a few notches, I believe she can.

 

Agreed. The bout with Covid didn’t help either. I’m still pissed though, only because I’m voting to keep Trump out, and not because I have any faith in the Democratic Party. As an independent, I had faith in Biden, because he at least said things a leader would say to try to unite the country, regardless of race, religion or creed. He represented all of us, even those that didn’t want him or care for him. I’m not happy, but I’ll get over it. I just wish him and his family well.
