Leaked Supreme Court documents indicate that Chief Justice Roberts was tilting the court in favor of defending Trump.

    https://www.nytimes.com/2024/09/15/us/justice-roberts-trump-supreme-court.html

    excerpt:

"In his writings on the immunity case, the chief justice seemed confident that his arguments would soar above politics, persuade the public, and stand the test of time. His opinion cited “enduring principles,” quoted Alexander Hamilton’s endorsement of a vigorous presidency, and asserted it would be a mistake to dwell too much on Mr. Trump’s actions. “In a case like this one, focusing on ‘transient results’ may have profound consequences for the separation of powers and for the future of our Republic,” he wrote. “Our perspective must be more farsighted.”

But the public response to the decision, announced in July on the final day of the term, was nothing like what his lofty phrases seemed to anticipate."

About six weeks ago, the Harris campaign said Trump and Vance were weird.

    Trump and Vance denied it.

The Harris campaign was correct. Trump and Vance have proven it with their narratives about immigrants kidnapping pets and eating them.

To people like Trump, Vance, and Loomer, such accusations are not weird.

Trump went even more truther by selecting Vance as his VP and Loomer as his quasi-wife and campaign advisor.

Shots fired near Donald Trump as he leaves his Florida golf club

    excerpt:

"Donald Trump was taken to safety by the Secret Service after agents opened fire on a man who was spotted with what may have been a gun while the former president was on the links, according to law enforcement sources.

Sources said the Secret Service spotted a suspicious individual on the Trump International Golf Course West Palm Beach, and opened fire when agents saw what appeared to be the barrel of a gun."

    https://www.cnn.com/politics/live-news/trump-harris-election-09-15-24/index.html

    excerpt:

"The FBI said Sunday it “is investigating what appears to be an attempted assassination” of former President Donald Trump, who is safe after shots were fired at Trump International Golf Club.

A man is in custody in connection to the incident, officials said. The person detained is Ryan Wesley Routh, according to three law enforcement sources.

A Secret Service agent spotted a rifle barrel sticking out of fence and “engaged” with the suspect, Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw said at a news conference late Sunday afternoon. The suspect fled in a car and was taken into custody after being stopped on the highway.

The gunman was 300 to 500 yards away from Trump, a Secret Service official said. Law enforcement found an AK-47 style rifle, GoPro and backpacks where the suspect was positioned, Bradshaw said.

President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris are both “relieved to know” that Trump is safe and have been briefed on the situation, according to the White House."

Once again, as secret agent 86 Maxwell Smart would say: "Missed it by that much!"

At least the would-be assassin didn't try the old 'mortar shell in the rocks on the 14th hole of the golf course' trick to bump off Trump. According to a news report, it was the old 'AK-47 in the bushes of the golf course' trick.

Maxwell Smart: "Of course! The old mortar in the rocks in the 14th hole trick."

Trump may want to concoct a special dance that he only uses for when yet another assassin misses him.

    "Nah nah! You missed me!"

It would be more creative than the usual fist pump and 'fight, fight, fight'.

    I don't quite understand.
Florida is an open carry state. Loaded long guns may be carried without a permit in restaurants, bars, and anyplace not restricted by federal law.
This guy was about 400 yards from Trump. Is there a federal law that doesn't allow long guns within 400 yards of Trump?
He never fired a shot. How did they know, before shooting at him, that he was planning on shooting Trump?

In addition, this guy apparently has a criminal record including being charged with owning an unlicensed fully automatic weapon.
So how did he get an AK 47 style weapon?
Sounds like we need better gun laws.

Trump says he will terminate an allaged phone app that Harris uses for smuggling immigrants.

Donald Trump vows to terminate Harris' "phone app for smuggling" migrants

    excerpts:

"Trump singled out Harris, alleging that her office is directly involved in the creation of what he called a "Phone App for Smuggling" migrants into the U.S.

In the statement posted to his Truth Social account, he wrote: "As President I will immediately end the migrant invasion of America. We will stop all migrant flights, end all illegal entries, terminate the Kamala phone app for smuggling illegals (CBP One App), revoke deportation immunity, suspend refugee resettlement, and return Kamala's illegal migrants to their home countries (also known as remigration). I will save our cities and towns in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and all across America. MAGA2024!""

"Critics argue that Trump's statement is another attempt to stoke anti-immigration sentiments ahead of the 2024 presidential election, for which he is the Republican nominee."

Trump can try to top that narrative by saying Harris has a phone app that's assisting immigrants with stealing people's pets so that they can eat them.
