First time I voted for JFK. Voted for Harris yesterday. Hopefully this election will see the trump phenomena put to rest. :sunglasses:

I did that with one of my daughters on Saturday. Any wee change to the normal routine is good.

Part of the Santa Cruz pier fell into the ocean. :anguished: Been on that pier many times, although spent much more time on the Cayucos pier. :)

Watching Landman, the latest series from Taylor Sheridan. It's good and Billy Bob Thornton is given an attitude with lines to match and is quite enjoyable to watch. Now, before the trade I took on for the majority of my working life, I had many jobs in different industries. One of those jobs was working on an oil field drilling rig as shown in episodes 3 and 4 of the aforementioned series. I worked on the drilling rig floor which was a pretty dangerous place to work! A new man is called a worm and that's what they called me. Traditional. I was told that if a drill pipe was set down on my foot--don't wait for the pipe to be lifted off it--just walk away! Also, if I heard an unusual , loud noise, to dive off the rig and hit the ground running!! Yup. A real fun place to to work, especially if one liked to be covered in mud or oil all day about half scared all the time!

Yesterday, my grandma dropped me off in front of the grocery store so I could run in and get her some half n half. I didn't know where exactly she parked and saw a van just like hers when i came back out. Needless to say, the lady who was most definitely not my grandma was very surprised when I opened the door. And I was rather embarrassed. Sorry curly red head lady. That'll teach me a lesson about double checking.

Reminds me of the time we pulled into a rest stop at about 1:00 AM on the PA Turnpike one Christmas Eve.
It was snowing and there were only about five cars parked in the whole lot.
We left my son siting in the back seat of our Chrysler 200 and went inside.
When we came out we saw a Japanese woman walk over to the passenger's side of our car, open the door and get in.

When we got to the car she saw us, looked around and jumped out.
Turned out she had a Chrysler 200 and mistook our car for hers.
My son never knew she was in the car.

We had a good laugh and I remarked that it seems the Americans are all buying Japanese cars and the Japanese are buying American cars.

Well, my last old friend in my home town, Lemoore,California died a few days ago. I called her last week and her voice was so bad I could barely understand her. I told her I would call back this week in hopes that she was better. Got a call from friend in Visalia , California ( old friend from Lemoore) that she had died. I guess not long after I had tried to talk to her. Gail. I had known her since she was a toddler and I was 6 years old,as she was a cousin of the first friend I made . He's gone too, of course. Most of my friends and relatives are gone--I've out lived ém all--damn near. I'm not disappointed about that---just sorry about the rest of ém. So it goes. ;):(

Just found out yesterday a friend had died. It's becoming a too regular occurrence unfortunately.
We're alive mate! Rejoice in that! Keep taking every day as it comes. I try not to dwell on bad news.

Well, just another day. Ho-hum. Life has gotten rather routine and boring these days--quite unlike my earlier life as described in this thread. I need to do something---don't know exactly what tho. I do miss having a lady friend with the companionship and of course the intimacy these days. I guess that part of my life is over. :(

I will say I am so tired of looking at the the faces of those FUCKING PRICKS--trump and Musk. These are certainly interesting times politically tho. I've seen ém all from Roosevelt to the current asshole. :flushed:

Thanks to those of you that have stuck with me on this journey of occurrences through my life------:D

    Today marks 45 years...

February 22 1980, the greatest hockey game ever played unfolded between the USA and the Soviet Union.

Even though it took place a couple months before I was born, I knew this story well. Before I was watching Hilary Knight and Aerin Frankel, I was listening to the stories of Mike Eurozione and Jim Craig.

It's why I started playing hockey and it turned into a lifelong obsession with the greatest sport on earth.

Went to Portland Saturday for a memorial. Jaime, mother of my grand son was feted and remembered by 50--60 people. Just before the memorial started, the Women's Day March took place below where we were on the third floor. Thousands paraded by , most with home made signs about women's civil rights and many about the fat pig fascist trump.

You guys won't believe what books I found at five below of all places? The egyptian book of the dead, sound healing, and an herbology book. I picked up a herbology, united states constitution book, and a cookbook for my boyfriend, and the egyptian and sound healing books for myself.

Also, I saw a rooster on the sidewalk in front of the gym yesterday. I hope someone called animal control, so it wouldn't get hit in the parking lot. ( I didn't have my phone yesterday, so I couldnt.)
