Trump has made silly remarks about how he thinks he will pay for tax cuts and reduce the national debt. He told a journalist from the Wall Street Journal that he would get rid of the national debt by reducing the trade deficit, which doesn't make any sense. Trump simply doesn't know what he is talking about. The WSJ would make desperate attempts at editing its interviews of him to try to make them have a semblance to rational thinking. An issue with Trump's supporters is that all their hopes hinge on one person who will supposedly fix it all on his own with no one else like him to take over the movement when he is gone. Trump decimated the Republican party which will have a hard time recovering after Trump is gone, whether it's an early unexpected mishap or the end of his second term.
