Trump tries to make it appear he's been exonerated.

Don’t Let Trump Fool You, He Was Never Exonerated

    excerpt:

"The snow job about Trump’s exoneration is actually three overlapping arguments. The first one is that he was cleared by courts before the election. Trump has been saying this for months. “We won the big case in Florida. We’re winning them all,” he told a crowd in September. At a rally in October, he proclaimed, “I was exonerated and fully exonerated.”

The second argument is that the election itself was a referendum on his guilt. “The American electorate was the ultimate jury, and they soundly rejected the Democrat lawfare against President Trump,” said Steve Cortes, an adviser to Trump’s 2016 and 2020 campaigns. Jonathan Turley, a Fox News legal analyst, called Trump’s re-election “the largest effective jury verdict in history.”

The third argument is that Trump was vindicated in late November when Special Counsel Jack Smith asked courts to dismiss the two federal cases against him. Smith surrendered because “the American people essentially found President Trump innocent,” said Tom Fitton, the president of Judicial Watch, which supports the former president. Corey Lewandowski, a longtime Trump adviser, argued that if Trump were guilty,"

Trump says Time's person of the year is a joke if it didn't select him.

If it selects Trump, he's honored by such a distinction.

    https://www.politico.com/news/2024/12/11/time-trump-person-of-the-year-000498

    excerpt:

Trump in 2013 called the magazine’s annual list of influential people “a joke and stunt of a magazine that will, like Newsweek, soon be dead. Bad list!”

And in 2015, Trump complained that he was not chosen for the magazine cover that instead went to then-German Chancellor Angela Merkel. But he went on to call being named “Person of the Year” a “great honor.”

Trump has nominated Pam Bondi to be the U.S. Attorney General and Kash Patel to head the FBI.

Those two would have had an opportunity to go after Hunter Biden for anything they could have possibly found on him.

Trump's administration will have difficulty trying to prosecute Joe Biden because of a lack of criminal behavior (the GOP-controlled House failed badly at finding evidence for impeachment hearings) and because of the added immunity the Supreme Court gave presidents in 2024. That pushes prosecutions toward relatives and associates of a president.

The Supreme Court's immunity ruling didn't avert what it thinks will be an upcoming and ongoing tit-for-tat lawfare battle between the two parties, which was its rational for the ruling. It simply shifted it to other targets. Being aware of it, outgoing presidents are now expected to issue preemptive pardons to their associates to avoid an expected increased level of retaliatory prosecution of their associates by the next incoming party at the White House.

Good reading for those who are not familiar with the tomes. ( ps all empires fall)
The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich and The Rise and Fall of the Roman Empire
Most empires tend to rot from within and lash out while they are crumbling. Decay within and fear and distrust of those outside their borders. ( Yer either with us or against us attitude) of course their is a lot applicable on a global scale in Orwell's 1984, Huxley's Brave New World and Kafkas 'The Trial'
We live in an information/disinformation Enemy at the Gates - Ball of confusion
(see politics of fear, politics of confusion and the good old standard Smoke and Mirrors - The USA is the master of all of them and they use it on their own people as well as the rest of the world - Are there any world leaders anywhere in the world that are really looking out for their own people ? The only global empire that will never fall we all serve no matter what your personal politics or religion is - The real New World Order - Are the Global Corporations which are devouring everything and everyone and we queue up to service their greed. This hydra has far more than seven heads and try to cut any of them off. They actually profit more from misery than mercy.

    Biden warns of oligarchy.

Biden warns in farewell address that an 'oligarchy' of ultrarich in US threatens future of democracy

    excerpt:

“Today, an oligarchy is taking shape in America of extreme wealth, power and influence that literally threatens our entire democracy, our basic rights and freedoms, and a fair shot for everyone to get ahead," Biden said, drawing attention to "a dangerous concentration of power in the hands of a few ultra-wealthy people and the dangerous consequences if their abuse of power is left unchecked.”

Jim Jordan backs idea Trump should move 2028 Olympics from LA to red-run town

    excerpt:

"U.S. Representative Jim Jordan has expressed his support for President-elect Donald Trump to move the 2028 Olympics out of Los Angeles and relocate them to a city run by GOP lawmakers.

Jordan, a Republican who represents Ohio’s fourth congressional district, made the remarks while speaking on Newsmax on Tuesday. Rob Finnerty, a network host, asked him if he thought the games should be moved to a “red city where you know things are going to be run properly” like Dallas or Miami."

Jordan can go a step further and say the 2028 Olympics should be held at Mar-a-Lago and Trump's golf resorts.

During his first term, Trump wanted to hold a world economic summit at one of his resorts in FL.

    https://www.politico.com/news/2025/01/16/trump-inauguration-corporate-donors-004242

    excerpt:

“The stigma of a Trump donation, which was out there to some degree eight years ago, is no longer there,” said Brian Ballard, a longtime fundraiser for Trump who’s raised money for the Presidential Inaugural Committee. “Who knows what’s going to happen two months from now? But for today, up and down, corporate America is solidly pro-Trump.”

It’s also a far cry from as recently as four years ago, when much of corporate America made a show of cutting ties with Trump over his role in the Jan. 6, 2021 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol. Since then, Trump’s subsequent felony convictions, promises to pardon members of the mob who stormed the Capitol or seek revenge on those who prosecuted him have done little to dull the corporate quest for Trump’s approval.

Village People branded "traitors" for performing at Trump's inauguration

    excerpt:

In May 2023, as Trump continued to play "Y.M.C.A." at his rallies during his latest presidential campaign, Karen Willis, the Village People's manager and Victor Willis' wife, sent a cease-and-desist letter to Trump's campaign. The letter condemned a performance of the group's song "Macho Man" by impersonators dressed as the Village People at Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort, saying it sparked confusion and falsely implied the band's endorsement of the GOP figurehead.

Victor Willis said in an appearance on Fox & Friends in December that he would consider performing for Trump "because he has done so much for 'Y.M.C.A.' and brought so much joy to so many people with the song."

Et Tu, Village People?: Disco Group to Play Trump Inauguration

    excerpt:

"From Mark Zuckerberg to Jack Smith to Senate Republicans, everywhere you look these days there’s someone giving up and doing exactly what Donald Trump wants. Now you can add the Village People to the list. While the group once sent Trump a cease-and-desist letter demanding that he stop using their music, now they have agreed to play his second inauguration."

Trump declares war on wind turbines and wants them ripped down.

'Should be ripped down ASAP': Trump declares war on windmills in angry rant

    excerpt:

"Windmills are an economic and environmental disaster," Trump declared without citing any evidence to back up this claim. "I don’t want even one built during my Administration. The thousands of dead and broken ones should be ripped down ASAP. Most expensive energy, only work with massive government subsidies, which we will no longer pay!"
