Let me ask you, if you were living in a house that was infested with toxic black mold, you and your family were in danger, would you move out?

Now imagine some bureaucratic bullshit required you to go through an arduous and expensive process that could take years, in order to be legally allowed to remove yourself and your family from that house. What would you do?

You can bet your ass you wouldn't wait around for the paperwork.

May I also remind you that most of the people you call illegals are indigenous to this continent, if anyone is going to be called illegal it should be the people of European descent. Despite what you may have heard, the vast majority of immigrants, legal or otherwise, work hard, contribute greatly to our communities and even pay taxes. Undocumented immigrants also don't qualify for federal programs, so they pay into the system but don't get anything back. Some states will allow them to use certain programs but most don't.

 

Cant get behind #1 I have no problem with LEGAL immigration as most of our great grandparents were immigrants but its not UNDOCUMENTED its ILLEAGAL

As far as I'm concerned, people should be able to, for the most part (certain exceptions might apply), move freely from place to place as long as they contribute to the place they move to and follow the laws of said place( in this scenario, undocumented would not equal illegal)

Do you really think that the MILLIONS of illegal immigrants that come into the US every year come from homes with black mold? Why aren't the Illegal immigrants coming from Honduras, for example, requestion refugee status in the first Country they come to, as required? States payout millions of dollars in healthcare to Illegal immigrants. There is a legal way, they just don't want to.

Some people don't have the luxury of time and money to do it legally, a lot of them are trying to avoid dying in their home countries.
Sometimes laws are unjust and it is our duty, as citizens, to challenge them. I will not defend my position further, because in my view, all people should be treated with dignity and respect, regardless of where they come from and if they have the correct paperwork or not. For me, that is not debatable.

At what point do people get to choose which laws they follow and which they ignore? is it a fathers right to kill or hurt the guy who got his teenage daughter pregnant? unfortunately for human beings the law is cut and dried either choose to follow it or pay the price. The large amount of validation/ documentation required to get a job is always supprising. lotsa motor vehicle documentation when moving state to state. Cant think that there is much fraud.

 

And yet, working under the table for low wages with no benefits, they're still much better off than in their home countries. As long as that's the situation we'll continue to see illegal immigration.

Regardless of the lack of accuracy, how is it contradictory exactly?

This is not a debate forum, people can post information and opinions without the need to be embroiled in what you like to call a debate but what you are doing isn't even debating, at best its an argumentative circle jerk of petty barbs. You seem to get off on being terrible to each other for no other reason than to be terrible. When, on rare occasions that I come here to deliver a bit of information I have come across or to chime in with my own opinion, I invariably get attacked. I want nothing more than for people to get along, empathize with each other and at least try to learn facts instead of just spewing hate at each other. Can you imagine how amazing a world we could create if we all just started to work together to make it better, not just for some but for everyone? Unfortunately, that would require you to see things from different perspectives than the ones you currently have, something you refuse to do. You would have to actually try to imagine what it is like in someone else's shoes and see how a specific policy or law effects them and ask yourself, how would you feel if it applied to you?

So no, I am not here for debate. Yesterday, I came across some information that could help some people in this very concerning time we are in. I delivered the information and then someone...oh wait...it was you, delivered one of those petty barbs I was talking about and instead of ignoring it like I knew I should I let myself get embroiled in this "discussion", if one could call it that, because I was trying to inform you about how much you benefit from the people you hate and how their absence will adversely effect you. These workers, both legal and illegal, are already not showing up to work for fear of deportation,(think of all the jobs they do that American citizens are usually unwilling to do) most of them are probably trying to self deport so that they can avoid being rounded up by ICE. There is a lot of speculation about how they might be planing on using these people as slave labor in prison camps or detention facilities instead of actually sending them back to their countries. These speculations are beginning to hold more weight when you look at some of the legislation that certain states are trying to pass.

Our country is in peril, not just for some people but for all people. You need to begin to educate yourself from reputable sources, look for actual facts from places outside of your echo chamber. Sooner or later, they will get to stripping your rights away as well, band together to fight for everyone's rights before there is no one left to help fight for yours.

Often times, laws get overturned through the court system first instead of legislation, which generally requires someone to break the law and fight it in court to say that the law is unjust. There is a lot about our legal system that is open to interpretation and is, by very definition, not "cut and dry". Plus the scenario you are trying to use as an example is in no way comparable to hard working people trying to feed their families and give them a safer place to live.

You cannot get / implore / force these right wing pricks to educate themselves about anything close to the truth.
