They have been doing it for years.
I think the pilot of the Blackhawk messed up and got confused as to which plane they were supposed to be watching.
The black boxes have been recovered which will reveal more, it’s a tragic loss of life, they for sure need to change what they do to prevent this from happening again.

The 250th anniversary of elite white male independence. American independence comes in stages, and some of us are still waiting for our turn.

A wanton purge of federal workers doesn't seem like a way to reduce the chance of aircraft accidents.

    https://www.cnn.com/politics/live-news/trump-tariffs-presidency-news-02-02-25/index.html

    excerpt:

"Federal workforce purge: Federal employees across the country have been confused and angered by a mass offer to resign from their positions. Officials at the National Transportation Safety Board had to scramble to keep workers who received the offers just hours before Wednesday’s aviation disaster near Washington, DC. Meanwhile, senior USAID security officials were put on leave after refusing to allow officials from Elon Musk’s DOGE to access systems at the agency."

Top Democrats warn tariffs will hit Americans hard as Trump says it’s ‘worth the price’

    excerpt:

“If the president is going abuse this power to bully and coerce our allies, Congress should take this authority back,” Coons said in a statement.

Speaking on CNN’s State of the Union on Sunday, Kaine said that he was struck by the “irony” that Trump issued an emergency order on energy then days later slapped 10% tariffs on Canadian energy. “He is increasing prices at the pump, and you will start to see it in the next couple of days. At the same time he is saying there’s an energy emergency – the emergency is self created.”

Trump is lying again, or he just doesn't comprehend rational thinking.

Biden didn't do away with the stringent tests for air traffic jobs.

Biden promoted diversity so that people who are capable of meeting the stringent tests aren't being excluded.

Someone who uses a wheelchair who's qualified for an air traffic job might want the job but never seek it, thinking that he or she is not eligible because of the wheelchair. Biden promoted diversity so that such people, who are capable of such jobs, aren't unwittingly excluded.

Trump thinks that promotion of diversity lowers the standards for the job.

    excerpt:

"USAID Director of Security John Voorhees and his deputy are the latest officials who have been put on leave amid fears that the agency is being intentionally dismantled by the Trump administration. Rumors are swirling that President Donald Trump intends to sign an executive order to fold USAID into the US State Department — a move that Democratic lawmakers say is illegal."

USAID security leaders on leave after trying to keep Musk's DOGE from classified info, officials say

    excerpt:

"WASHINGTON (AP) — The Trump administration has placed two top security chiefs at the U.S. Agency for International Development on leave after they refused to turn over classified material in restricted areas to Elon Musk’s government-inspection teams, a current and a former U.S. official told The Associated Press on Sunday.

Members of Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency, known as DOGE, eventually did gain access Saturday to the aid agency’s classified information, which includes intelligence reports, the former official said.

Musk’s DOGE crew lacked high-enough security clearance to access that information, so the two USAID security officials — John Vorhees and deputy Brian McGill — were legally obligated to deny access."

Musk's activities are becoming increasingly strange.

His title isn't known. He could be a volunteer or a government official. His security clearance status isn't fully known.

Musk or his underlings reportedly gained access to sensitive information that includes the Social Security and Medicare payment systems.

An act of Congress would be required for DOGE to become an official government department.

Musk apparently didn't show up in person to try to access the information but rather his underlings. Musk's own status in the government isn't even known, let alone his underlings.

    It's becoming increasingly bizarre.

It's similar to tactics used in MI by Trump supporters after the 2020 election who used police and weapons to scare and dupe a local government worker into allowing them to access voting machines when they didn't have the legal authority.

    https://www.cnn.com/politics/live-news/trump-tariffs-presidency-news-02-02-25/index.html

    excerpt:

"Personnel from the Musk-created office physically tried to access the USAID headquarters in Washington, DC, and were stopped. The DOGE personnel demanded to be let in and threatened to call US Marshals to be allowed access, two of the sources said.

Three of the sources said the DOGE personnel wanted to gain access to security systems and personnel files. Two of those sources also said they wanted access to classified information."

The U.S. is watching the formation of an oligarchy-dictatorship right before its eyes.

Now Trump is saying that his tariffs will cause Americans some pain.

During the 2024 campaign, and even after the 2024 election, he said tariffs would be free money pouring into the U.S. from other countries that would make America rich.

The world needs to set up a consortium to protect itself from Musk and Trump.

Similar to NATO, it would be have a charter that considers an attack on one member as an attack on all. But this group would be responding to attacks by Trump, such as his tariffs.

A fast, severe response by countries around the world, such as imposing tariffs selectively on Trump and Musk as soon as they start trouble, would be another variable in their equations.

Congress also needs a fast-reaction defense force to protect itself from Trump. It debated it after Trump's riot at the Capitol but unfortunately nothing was produced. Its safety is still contingent on Trump who violated his oath of office when he refused to protect Congress from his violence because it wasn't in his personal interest.

‘Make them pay’: Canada puts Trump’s ‘first friend’ Elon Musk’s Tesla in the crosshairs of tariff war

    excerpt:

"In an interview with The Canadian Press, Freeland made her intentions clear. “We need to be very targeted, very surgical, very precise,” she said. The strategy isn’t just about economic retaliation — it’s personal. Tesla’s inclusion stems from CEO Elon Musk’s financial and operational backing of Trump, which Freeland didn’t shy away from addressing. “We need to look through and say who is supporting Trump and how can we make them pay a price for a tariff attack on Canada.”

Tesla’s electric vehicles sold in Canada are primarily manufactured in the US and China. Imposing tariffs would inevitably hike their prices, potentially steering Canadian EV buyers toward other automakers. This could be a significant blow to Tesla, which dominates Canada’s EV market with its Model Y and Model 3 leading in sales."
