Trump says auto tariffs are permanent and doesn’t care if they cause carmakers to hike prices — ‘I hope they raise their prices’ excerpt: He also confirmed the tariffs are here to stay, saying, “Absolutely, they’re permanent, sure. The world has been ripping off the United States for the last 40 years and more. And all we’re doing is being fair, and frankly, I’m being very generous."
Spoken like a true imbecile that does not understand how a world trade market works, or how tariffs actually work. He’s doing to put us in a recession for sure.
It's why Musk was literally jumping up and down on stage at Trump's 2024 campaign rallies. Musk was overjoyed at the power he would have in the Trump administration without even being an elected official and in a fake department. Musk was naive for not realizing the backlash against him and his companies that might occur as a result of the injury he inflicted onto the general public. Now he's crying crocodile tears that his Tesla company isn't doing well, stating that his company is peaceful. The argument isn't over whether Tesla is peaceful. It's Musk and his behavior. Trump said his rioters at the Capitol were peaceful patriots.
Trump has had his 'they're ripping us off' attitude since the 1980's. In 1987 he took out full page ads in three prominent east coast newspapers. He accused other countries of ripping off the U.S. His scapegoats in that era were Japan and Saudi Arabia. Today it's a long list of countries he perceives as having wronged him and the U.S. Fact Check: Yes, Trump paid for full-page newspaper ad criticizing US foreign policy in 1987
Trump's neurotic, narcissistic protectionism condition with which he is afflicted seems to be worsening. He's been all over the spectrum with his tariff threats during his second term. He has changed his targets, threatened but later walked back. He has threatened and implemented and not walked back on some threats such as aluminum and steel imports. He had earlier stated that his reciprocal tariffs would be on countries for which the U.S. had a trade deficit. He's currently saying he will impose reciprocol tariffs on all countries. He has also added 25% import tariffs on cars and has said they are permanent because of other countries ripping off the U.S. for the past four decades. His latest threats target Russia and anyone who deals with Russian oil. That threat stems from his frustration that he hasn't been able to end the Ukraine war in 24 hours as he promised during the 2024 campaign. He now says he was being sarcastic about ending the war in 24 hours and feels that Putin might be responsible (although he's not sure) for not ending the war (a war that Trump says Ukraine started by not making a deal with Putin before Putin's invasion).
In Trump's mind, if only Zelensky had given up Ukraine to Putin, the war would have never started. Trump is talking about Greenland and himself like he has talked about Ukraine and Putin. Trump has said he doesn't rule out military action to take over Greenland. It depends on whether Greenland will give up it's country to Trump.
https://www.cnn.com/2024/07/15/politics/kfile-jd-vance-comments-trump/index.html excerpt: Donald Trump’s vice presidential pick Ohio Sen. JD Vance was once a fervent critic of the former president. In private messages, he wondered ahead of Trump’s election whether he was “America’s Hitler” and in 2017 said the then-president was a “moral disaster.” In public, he agreed Trump was a “total fraud” who didn’t care about regular people and called him “reprehensible.” “I go back and forth between thinking Trump is a cynical asshole like Nixon who wouldn’t be that bad (and might even prove useful) or that he’s America’s Hitler,” Vance wrote in a message to a friend in 2016. “How’s that for discouraging?”
During his annual address to Congress in March 2025, Trump stated he would obtain Greenland in one way or another. The GOP members laughed and applauded him for the remark, praising him for being a dictator.
Musk gives out a million dollars to two voters in WI after WI Supreme Court refused to hear case. Elon Musk gives out $1 million payments to Wisconsin voters after state supreme court refused legal challenge excerpt: A unanimous Wisconsin Supreme Court on Sunday refused to hear a last-minute attempt by the state's Democratic attorney general to stop billionaire Elon Musk from handing over $1 million checks to two voters, a ruling that came just minutes before the start of the rally. Two lower courts had already rejected the legal challenge by Democrat Josh Kaul, who argues that Musk's offer violates a state law. "Wisconsin law prohibits offering anything of value to induce anyone to vote," Kaul argued in his filing. "Yet, Elon Musk did just that."

Trump starts layoffs of as many as 10,000 health agency workers. Thousands of US health agency workers laid off in overhaul led by RFK Jr excerpt: Health department workers lined up outside of federal buildings in Washington DC and Maryland on Tuesday morning, some for hours, as they waited to find out if they were still employed. At least one office employee waved their badge at the entry point to see if a red or green light would appear – indicating if they still had a job or not. One employee, who has been with the department for 20 years and was waiting in line to find out her fate, said her colleagues have known for some time that HHS would be a target under the Trump administration. “It’s in Project 2025,” she said. “Basically since February they’ve been telling us we might be let go.”
