There are some horrific pop tunes from every era.
Two that have just ( unfortunately) popped into my mind are Paul Anka - You're Having My Baby and the stomach churning Dan Hill - (just wanna hold u til I Die) don't recall the actual name of that pile of dung
M.O.R. products are by and large dross in my opinion just because it sells the most doesn't make it the best - be it burgers, books, music , film or any other populist tripe

    What? I like both.
I can understand cause Richard Harris ain't a diva, but it's easy to relate to that song if you've done the right drugs...and as a baker I too would be upset if the cake icing was melting.

Hotel California is also so relatable if you've ever lived in So. Cal. Shit I checked back in a year ago. Been coming to this Hotel since '68, seems I can never leave. It infects your consciousness. You become "The Californians", indeed.

And California has infected the world, music, movies, lifestyles, food, health, progressive ideas, a tiny bit of tech too. This server allowing you to communicate around the world instantly.

MojoToto doesn't choke on their reply
These two songs are cringe-y and great examples of yuck.

    Everyone to their own tastes.

I never cared for The Eagles.
The worse thing Joe Walsh ever did was join that band, and I've been following him since 1969 or 70.
    Partied with him once.

    Not much to it.
When I was in college in a one red light college town the student union would get acts to come in and we'd get to see them for free in the gym.
I can remember Vanilla Fudge, Frank Zappa and The Mothers of Invention, Eric Burdon and War, Peter Max, and some band called The James Gang, which we had never heard of. Janis Joplin was scheduled, but she died.
Few people had heard of Zappa at the time and most didn't like him as he made fun of the town. This was before 200 Motels.

Anyway, The James Gang blew us away and after the show my roommate and I, " The Wolfman" were walking down the street thoroughly f-ked up when the word got out that The James Gang were having a party in their hotel room.
Now the "hotel" was a bar in town that catered to underage drinkers, "The Eagle"; and it had rooms above the bar, a real dive.
Sort of poetic that, as Walsh later joined The Eagles!

We bought a six pack of beer, asked what room they were in, fought our way through the crowd at the bar and climbed this old staircase to the second floor. We found the room as there were only a couple to choose from and Wolfman started pounding on the door. For a long time.
Finally the door opened and some guy stuck his head out and said, "go away!", and slammed the door.
So Wolfman pounded some more until the door opened again and the guy said something to the effect of, "Get lost!"
This goes on for about fifteen minutes until finally after we pleaded and begged and showed him our six pack of beer, he couldn't stand it anymore and let us in.

There wasn't any party, just three guys, The James Gang, in this little bare room, and I can only remember two beds for some reason.
The room was so small I had to sit on the floor and lean against the wall as the beds were full of the other four guys, including my roommate.

As I said we were pretty high before we got there so all I can remember is one of the James Gang, I don't know which one, rolling joints and passing them around.
We smoked and drank the beer and I don't know what, and after awhile, 2AM? 3AM? someone said, "We got a show tomorrow in (somewhere), and you guys gotta go", or something like that.

They pushed us out the door and we went to the attic room we rented in the condemned house across from the junior high that used to extrude teeny bopper girls that we'd have to kick off our porch when we had keg parties so we wouldn't get arrested for child molestation and went to sleep on the floor.

    Good times.

Wham … Last Christmas. I hate that song so much! If I hear one word of that song I quickly turn it off and put on anything from AC/DC to get it out of my head.
I’m sure everyone will agree with me on this one.

but I think many people will wonder if "Simply Having A Wonderful Christmas Time" is actually worse: "Last Christmas" doesn't include, for example, any falsetto "doop-doop-doop-da-doop's" or any "sleigh bells"... like in Sir Paul's cringe-y classic....

Got to see Zappa at my college, great concert! On Halloween eve. Went home really wasted on a variety of substances. 5 minutes after I arrived, a battering ram bashes our door down.

We got arrested, took 3 days to get me and my roommates a lawyer to get us out. Learned some good lessons there. Not at Uni. Lol.

James Gang: Back when I was a teen, I had a friend, with a CAR! He only had two 8 track tapes, but a loud sound system. One tape was the James Gang. He played it over and over, every time I got in the car. Only person I've ever known to be into them. They're good rockers
