I might need to just say 6sailor9 has got close enough. He's correct except for the vagueness. If I went to a shop and asked for a PVC connector - his answer - I wouldn't be given the right thing.

So, hoping @Moon Goddess and @Pink Sky are still here, you've got 30 mins to reach the right answer or he'll win by default :)

Lol, most of the plumbing work I've done was with copper in a 100 year old house.

A Fitting...it's the best I can do at the moment, lol

    Ok, you got it.
We call it a 15mm (1/2 inch) elbow joint.
Can be used with copper pipes instead of brass joints.

I thought it was something rectangular in shape. I couldn't veer my thoughts off that shape.

You like to make work for yourself?
I think you guys call it PEX. Or PEX may be similar. I've used JG for 30 years and no joints have leaked. Fyi.

Nah, it just came with the house, lol.

The camper I'm in now has pex, now I have to buy all new tools to work on it and they are a bit pricey. Luckily, I was able to repair the only issue I have had so far with a $15 dollar tool and a $10 shark bite type fitting that you just have to push on. We have PEX A and PEX B over here, and the way they connect is different so a lot of the tools are different too.

Anyway, enough of me rambling. Back to the game :D

0306 here so I might need to come back later this am.

Is it a door threshold? The black thing with the diamond rubber with what seems to be hessian matting on it?

I've only ever known that diamond pattern to be metal if it's mesh rather than solid. Still no idea what it is.

    Nope

It is metal. Your first guess said rubber though.
