Our children are dying, young men are dying, and the rates of mental illness among them has gone through the ceiling. They will have to throw them all out on the streets, and Donald Duck made that illegal. Conservatives love sarcasm, hate, anger, and righteous indignation. Give them enough, and they'll literally stop watching TV for a while, drink less, and make sure to censor anything else. Greta Thuneberg is entertainment for conservatives, the only kind of opposition they will ever tolerate. John Stewart met with Donald Duck, and gets along with him, because they're both sarcastic bastards.
“The end may be nearer than we think”, posts a video called “How Long Before Earth Becomes Uninhabitable?” and Scratcho likes it. Nope, not Apocalyptic at all…
My mistake. Scratcho POSTED the video and now denies any Apocalyptic views on Climate Change. I’m going to have a field day going through these older posts…
Putting words in my mouth? We don't go extinct overnight. We're just reaching what some climate scientists consider to be the point of no return. Obviously hasn't happened yet, but your fossil fuel industry is working on it. Give it time. We're past the critical 1.5C above pre-industrial levels now. This year is the third hottest year on record, topped only by last year and the year before. The top ten have been in this decade. Climate scientists? Exxon-Mobil,? our President? anonymous MAGA shils on internet forums? Of course, our politicians may do us in before nature does.
Yup--I have posted some of those videos. OOOOOo----you caught me !! Bet that feels real good! You win. You're a fuckin 'genius! I'll be consulting you now on weather.
Tish--you can't count on those articles--they are written by people who study such things. We now have our own climate expert here, so pay attention to her , please. OOps--HIM.
We either are or aren’t going extinct from Climate Change. Which one is it guys? I never claimed to be an expert. I’m just pointing out obvious contradictions.
So I'm watching this video to see what it has to say. It claims the planet will become uninhabitable in 30 to 50 years, then it goes on to say this isn't the video's prediction, it's NASA's. But then it tells us NASA says "some regions" of the planet will be uninhabitable...not the entire planet. Duh, the sea levels will rise, some coastal areas will be under water. Misdirection and fear mongering. It's put out by FirstPost,
Check out Scratcho’s video on Neil DeGrasse Tyson saying sea levels will be up to the Statue of Liberty’s elbow. Meanwhile Obama is buying beachfront property. How do you guys buy into this stuff? Smdh…
I don't "buy into" all of it--but I find much of the information interesting and worth considering. I'm old, so I'll be dead in the near future anyway. Born in '39, so man--have I seen some changes! Not sure why you call the video "scratcho's video."
Well anyway---I'm done with this back and forth. I don't think anyone knows exactly what the future will bring. However interesting--It's really not worth arguing about, sooooo----bye bye.
It depends on what we do and who we listen to. I don't think that extinction is in the future for humans in my lifetime, but I take science seriously. You, not so much. The consequences of climate change are likely to be seriously unpleasant--famine, pestilence, war, death--the usual Four Horsemen kinds of maladies. Could climate change make humans go extinct? I've noticed the weather around here has changed dramatically since the 1970s--milder winters, longer, hotter summers.I had to evacuate my home because of a forest fire a few months ago, and many of my neighbors lost theirs. And nationally, I see more news about forest fires. The Latest Data Confirms: Forest Fires Are Getting Worse
What scientific experiment? Was it climate related? Mental health related? Reading comprehension related? IQ deficiency related? Missing link related? Who were the scientists? Funny we haven't seen much about it until now. Was it peer reviewed? Now might be a good time to post it so we know what it was about. Or is it still a work in progress. And how does being part of a study make you an authority on anything?
So, if the statue is around in 5,000 years, the water could reach her elbow as it will rise about 230 feet, but he was probably exaggerating for effect. He never said it would happen tomorrow. I'm thinking Obama figures he won't be around in 5,000 years.
