Willmar restaurant workers detained by ICE agents who visited business for lunch By Frankie McLister January 16, 2026 / 7:40 PM CST / CBS Minnesota Willmar restaurant workers detained by ICE agents who visited business for lunch excerpt: "El Tapatio Mexican Restaurant closed after WCCO confirmed agents visited the spot for lunch and later returned, detaining its owners and a dishwasher nearby after they had closed early due to the federal law enforcement's previous appearance. A 20-year-old, who says his parents own the restaurant and are now detained, says the business will reopen on Saturday under his leadership."
Willmar restaurant workers detained by ICE agents who visited business for lunch excerpt: WCCO asked a man who retired from Jennie-O, one of the town's biggest employers, what he wants for his community right now. "To get together and vote these people out. We're not scared, man," said Willmar resident Abdulcadir Gaal. Willmar Mayor Doug Reese says he's urging residents to stay calm and to respect one another to keep the community safe.
It's what voters should have done in the 2024 election like they did in 2020. They almost did in 2024. Like the battered spouse going back to the abuser, the public decided to give Trump another try after he appealed to voters with various stunts such as visiting the fighting ring and having the winner donate his big gold championship belt to Trump (like Machado giving Trump her Nobel Peace Prize medal, complete in a framed document that honors him, and the FIFA soccer group bestowing upon Trump the firist-ever FIFA world peace prize).
Trump-Greenland latest: US to hit UK and other European countries with 10% tariffs Trump said it was ‘time to give Greenland back’ to the US Alex Croft Saturday 17 January 2026 17:57 GMT Trump-Greenland latest: EU calls emergency meeting after US tariff threats
Trump says it's time for Denmark to give Greenland back to the U.S., as if the U.S. once owned it and it was stolen from the U.S. by Denmark. Trump makes the same remarks about Venezuelan oil.
Trump will probably have the Smithsonian Institute write history his way by saying he was the one who received the Nobel Peace Prize, not Machado. He can also scrub the website of any reference to other presidents and vice presidents who received the prize (Obama, Carter, Gore, Wilson). Trump Now Accepting All Trophies excerpt: "Yesterday Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Machado stopped by the White House to drop off her Nobel Peace Prize for Donald Trump. The Nobel people said that the prize was non-transferable. What they didn’t say was what they meant: that they wish they had never given it to a nut like Machado in the first place."
Trump Now Accepting All Trophies excerpt: He’ll place it next to his FIFA Peace Prize. Didn’t know a soccer league had a peace prize? Wondering why a soccer league would have a peace prize? These are good questions that can be answered by remembering that the World Cup is being played in North America this year and that Trump could make that happen the easy way or the hard way. And thus the coveted FIFA Peace Prize was born.
https://www.politico.com/news/2026/01/14/trump-greenland-residents-independence-00726696 excerpt: "But his bombast about needing to own the island for “psychological” reasons and refusal to rule out a military strike to seize land belonging to Denmark, a NATO ally, appears to be undermining that objective."
Trump's new 10% tariffs on eight European countries for opposing his desire to annex Greenland. Trump announces a 10% tariff on 8 European countries for opposing U.S. control of Greenland excerpt: "He said in a social media post that Denmark, Norway, Sweden, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and Finland would face the tariff, which would be raised to 25% on June 1 if a deal is not in place for "the Complete and Total purchase of Greenland" by the United States."
Miller is concocting numerous excuses why the U.S. should be able to annex Greenland. He says Greenland has failed in every which way to develop the land. He says that the U.S. gave money to Europe to defend itself. Miller says that no one is going to come to the aid of Greenland militarily anyway. Therefore, the U.S. should just steal Greenland.
Trump says the ownership of Greenland is a personal psychological issue for him. He says he has to own it in order to feel completely comfortable with making the effort to protect it. Trump used real estate as an example. He said one doesn't defend the property unless one owns it. In 2016 people said Trump's real estate acumen would make him a great president.

Trump Hands First Sale of Swiped Oil to His Megadonor’s Company Leigh Kimmins, Reporter Published Jan. 16 2026 10:01AM EST Trump Hands First Sale of Swiped Oil to His Megadonor’s Company excerpt: "The initial deal, worth about $250 million, went to Vitol, the world’s largest independent oil trader. A senior Vitol trader involved in securing the contract has poured millions into political action committees backing Donald Trump’s re-election and met with the president at the White House just days before the agreement was finalized. That senior oil trader is John Addison, and one of Trump’s most generous supporters. According to donor records compiled by OpenSecrets, Addison gave $5 million in October 2024 to Maga Inc and more than $1 million to two other Trump-aligned political action committees. In total, his donations tied to Trump’s re-election effort amounted to about $6 million."
Jeanine Pirro loses again. She's a former Fox host. Trump made her US attorney for DC. Man accused of aiming laser at Trump helicopter acquitted in 35 minutes Marina Dunbar Man accused of aiming laser at Trump helicopter acquitted in 35 minutes excerpt: "A man tried on a felony charge of aiming a laser at presidential helicopter Marine One while it was transporting Donald Trump was acquitted recently by a jury in Washington DC – which reached its decision in about 35 minutes Tuesday. The swift verdict of not guilty in the case of Jacob Winkler represented another high-profile defeat for Jeanine Pirro, the former Fox News host whom Trump appointed to be the US attorney for the nation’s capital. Pirro’s office has pursued harsh penalties against individuals accused of attacking federal officers or threatening the president but has failed multiple times."
Trump installed Pirro in DC to try to give people a hard time, what he accuses Letitia James in NY of doing to him. He's not having much luck in DC where the populace doesn't fall for his antics.
WATCH: Trump commends Iran for reportedly canceling hundreds of executions PBS Politics Jan 16, 2026 6:32 PM EST WATCH: Trump commends Iran for reportedly canceling hundreds of executions excerpt: President Donald Trump took the unusual step on Friday of commending the Iranian government for not following through on executions of what he said was meant to be hundreds of political prisoners. "Iran canceled the hanging of over 800 people," Trump told reporters while leaving the White House to spend the weekend at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida. He added "and I greatly respect the fact that they canceled."
Thank goodness the government of Iran says it is canceling the hangings of 800 people after reportedly killing as many as 12,000 protesters. It allowed Trump to return to Mar-a-Lago and relax.
It gives Trump an opportunity to contend that he deserves a Nobel Peace Prize because he supposedly prevented 800 hangings after as many as 12,000 people had already been killed that he did nothing to prevent after saying he would.
One of his 1st term pardons was someone I knew. This person was a top lieutenant at Stratton Oakmont, an inveterate con man and general shit bird who stole millions from gullible and elderly victims. He was sentenced to 85 years, which seemed excessive but should never have been pardoned. He and his skanky wife were like monkeys driving Bentleys.
Trump pardoned Shapiro and Stitsky on December 23, 2020. The most sleazy pardons are usually left for last. Wolf Of Wall Street Top Lieutenant Receives Trump Pardon | White Collar Consult excerpt: "Yesterday President Trump pardoned Irving Stitsky, a former sales manager at Stratton Oakmont. In the early 90s Stitsky worked with Jordan Belfort and was responsible for many pumps and dumps, the most notable Steven Madden shoes which Belfort and Madden were charged with. .Stitsky was later barred from the securities industry and started his career as a private money-raiser and stock promoter. From 1997-2006 Stitsky participated in a number of pumps and dump schemes earning him millions of dollars. In 2006 Stitsky was arrested and sentenced to 33 months in prison at the age of 61. Years later in 2010 Stitsky was at it again this time with a new company called Cobalt. Stitsky defrauded investors out of more than 20 million dollars much of it used on luxury personal items. At the time of this arrest, Stitsky was offered a plea of 7-9 years. Stitsky turned down the plea and went to trial, he was found guilty and sentenced to 85 years in prison. This was a shocking sentence especially for someone in their mid-sixties as it was an obvious life sentence. If you are a white-collar felon l you need to learn 2 important lessons from Irving Stitsky."
