Can sexual preference change with age?

I have found my sexuality to be fluid. While I have always had an attraction towards some men I was able to shelf it because I was getting my sexual needs met with women. And let’s face it, in the days when I was younger our culture wasn’t as excepting of the gay lifestyle. In these recent years I have found that since I am feeding into being with men more and more it has taken much more of a center stage in my life.

 

I knew I was bisexual in my 30’s. I was married (still am) and decided not to stray on my marriage. 35 years later my wife says she is done with sex so I decided it was time to explore my other side….very glad I did.
So to answer your question, not for me, just took the right circumstances for my bi side to emerge.

 

I look at it as exploring and opening yourself to new things

 

If you are bisexual yes your sexuality will shift or change. If you are gay/lesbian, or heterosexual it will not.

 

Sexual preference isn't some arbitrary Gay/Straight dichotomy, but a continuum, and where your place upon that continuum can shift over time, for a plethora of myriad reasons, some obvious, some subtle, some unknown.
What if we could extend a certain grace to ourselves and each other; the permission to grow, evolve, and change, and the hospitality to be accepted without judgement or condemnation just as we are in this present moment? What if individually we spent as much time and energy worrying about the degree of our selfishness and egocentrism as we do worrying if we're Straight or Gay enough?
Personally, I don't care if you're Gay, Straight, Both, or Neither; only whether you're an asshole or not. That's kind of a deal-breaker for me.

sexual drive adapts to availability probably.. most guys did 'something' with buddies when 10-12.. then girls caught a lot of their eyes and some just moved on.. some didn't.. some actively hated themselves for it..

when those who were 'straight' found they might be better-off expanding their horizons (read: add Gene to the Jean pool) and realized playing with a buddy's dick around puberty didn't kill them.. well, why limit themselves going forward? so they basically reclaimed what they forgot they had..
