But even if Iran wanted to, could they really just go back to the negotiating table? They have been attacked during negotiations twice now. The US and Israel are also aggressors here. Trump said something like he wants unconditional surrender. I don't think negotiations are even an option for Iran at this point.
Let's remember that this war is the result of almost a century of tensions bubbling to the surface. Zionism, and nuclear proliferation... This is an important nexus point for nuclear proliferation. The US cannot continue to take the line 'do as we say, not as we do.' If the US wants Iran to agree to not producing enriched uranium for civilian purposes, then they should do the same. The two countries should sign a pact to end nuclear power generation and the use of nuclear production in medical fields. Then they should pressure the rest of the world to follow. Countries that already have nuclear weapons will have to come to their own agreements for nuclear disarmament separately from the end of civilian nuclear use. All nuclear use for all purposes worldwide must end. That is the only way to stop the possibility of a nuclear firestorm. Zionism can be a terrible deception. Perhaps it is not a deception on the part of some of the Jews that wanted their own country in their ancestral lands. But if you look at what their nation has done you can hardly call them a just nation. They have invaded a foreign land, caused an exodus, genocides, and apartheid. The deception comes from Christians that think that the Jews should posses the land since it was promised to them by God in the old testament. God did promise land to the Jews, but the promise was taken away from them when they killed Jesus (Matthew 21:42-43). I guess some believe that the Jews must return to Israel before the second coming of Christ. But that too is a great deception. Whenever you start talking about apocalyptic prophesy you are probably deceived. Jesus told us that "But of that day and hour, no one knows," and warned staunchly about false prophets. Perhaps it would be better if all of the Jewish Israelis were encouraged to emigrate and granted benefits and citizenship in western countries, and an Arab Palestinian government was given control over Palestine. But it seems that many of these Jews are more bent on reclaiming their ancestral home by military might.
Really, Iran has been the aggressor for years in that region. Ideally their military capacity would be knocked out, enabling the Iranian people to overthrow the regime and create a democratic one. Of course, I'm sure Trumpo the Clown cares nothing for democracy and will bungle this as he bungles everything he touches. What a mess! But don't pretend that IRGC are the good guys; they are not.
Agree except 9//11 was used to aid the 'Politics of Fear' to manipulate the masses along with 'the Politics of Confusion' - 9/11 was a very very suspicious event - way too many oddities surrounding the whole circus. Fear is a very powerful weapon and throw in confusion and nobody really knows what the fucking long game is and will more easily be cowed and duped to dance to the piper's tune and sacrifice rights and freedoms for mythological safety. If war and terror didnt exist it would be invented in the name of peace and tranquility - There is more money and power to be gained from dystopian distractions than peaceful co-existance
Netanyahu says Iran's ability to develop nukes has been completely destroyed. He said their capacity to produce missiles has also been removed. Now he says his military is hitting the factories that produced parts for their missile and nuke programs. Btw, this is what Ukraine is doing to Russia. Remember when Ukraine wasn't allowed to attack Russia? They're getting pounded too now. Karma. Meanwhile, China can sit back and watch the other two super powers and their allies grow weaker economically and militarily by the day, as China grows stronger. When the rest of the world is divided, at war and at their weakest, China will be the last remaining superpower in a couple of years and can dominate the planet. You might want to practice your mandarin.
Xi Jinping has been preparing for a crisis like this for years. The PRC has huge reserves of oil (approximately 1.4 billion barrels) and liquefied natural gas and a robust domestic supply, including alternative energy sources, such as wind and solar (wind, solar and hydropower generated about 31% of China’s electricity in 2024). China’s imports of Iranian crude have slipped only marginally, from 1.57 million barrels per day in February to 1.47 million barrels per day in March, and Beijing instructed its own refineries to stop exports. China has been preparing for a global energy crisis for years. It is paying off now Meanwhile, in the U.S. the price of gasoline has risen 44.25% compared to the same time last year, and continues to rise by the hour. But not to worry; our Mussolini wanna-be has a concept of a plan. Trump contemplating invasion
The whole thing might be a scam to permanently raise the cost of fuel. Trump was installed to get this war going, this whole thing might be some sort of covid 2.0 reset operation. Are the world planners are up to something we probably won't like ?? They needed a Trump like figure to kick it off no way people would have gone along with that cackling idiot from California who sent the cops to people houses if the kids missed school. Where is cackling Kamala anyway usually in times like these, former and current presidential wanabees are usually on TV with something to say. Where is cackling Kamala ?? With some words of wisdom for us all.
Kamala would not have attacked Iran, and she is not the subject of this thread. You seem to think she's gonna run again, otherwise why waste your time on old right wing propaganda. Back on topic please.
Now Trump is removing sanctions on Iran's oil! He's says he's doing it to ease the price. Meanwhile Iran and Israel are taking out much of the Mideast's oil infrastructure. It's going to take years to get production up to previous levels. Was that the goal all along? To cut mideast production so prices soar, giving the US and Russia a windfall profit? Trump also removed the sanctions on Russian oil. Will Trump allow the Russian tanker to offload oil in Havana?
Iran targeted the Diego Garcia base, 2000 miles from Iran in the Indian Ocean. Supposedly, the missile was intercepted. This revealed a secret program Iran has been working on for a decade. They likely used a two stage rocket to double the missile distance to almost 4000k. That puts much of Europe in range. Nobody knows how many of these they have. Iran is now launching its more advanced weapons after degrading US and Gulf countries defenses. More get through than before. Iran is winning offensively now. The only easy targets left are oil refineries, desalinization plants and LNG plants. Those infrastructure losses are going to hurt everyone.
"In a frantic attempt to lower oil prices, the administration on Friday lifted sanctions on Iranian oil currently at sea. Iranian oil has been sanctioned since 1979. The lifting of sanctions will enable Iran to sell about 140 million barrels of oil, worth about $14 billion, including to the United States and to China. National security scholar Phil Gordon, who served as the White House coordinator for the Middle East, North Africa, and the Persian Gulf Region during the Obama administration, posted: “When Obama sent Iran $400m + $1.3bn in interest in 2016 Trump called it ‘insane’ and he and others spent a decade mocking the idea of ‘pallets of cash’ even though it was Iran’s own money, American prisoners were released, courts were likely to require the U.S. payment, and Iran had just agreed to significant and verified reductions and restrictions on its nuclear program for 15+ years. “Now Trump is giving Iran up to ten times that amount of revenue—one of the most significant measures of sanctions relief provided to the Islamic Republic since its founding—in exchange for marginal and temporary relief from the big increase in oil prices his actions have caused, without any concessions from Tehran, and even as Iran continues to target the United States, its allies, and world oil supplies. No way to read as anything other than desperate recognition of the situation Trump’s own actions have created and the lack of available alternatives for dealing with it.” On Meet the Press today, Senator Chris Murphy (D-CT) said: “We’re gonna give Iran $14 billion to fund this war with the United States? We’re gonna give Russia billions of dollars to fund their war with Ukraine? We’re literally putting money into the pockets of the very nations that we are fighting right now. We’ve never seen this level of incompetence in war-making in this country’s history.” Heather Cox Richardson; 3/22/2026 Meanwhile, his illegal, unconstitutional, and unprovoked war of aggression is costing us at least $1 billion a day, while SECDEF splurges tens of millions of taxpayer dollars on lobster and steak while Americans loose health care coverage and food stamps.
Trump says he has had good talks with Iran and is therefore giving 5 days grace before going for internal power structures. The Iranians are adamant that they have had no such talks with him or any if his.... what's a polite word for arse lickers? Sky news in the UK has a special correspondent on Iran and she has given this info re the denial of talks this morning.
Iran again hit refineries and electric generating plants in Gulf countries including several attacks around Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and even Egypt.
