sorry if this was already said, but I didn't take the time to read all the posts! For me, a pagan is someone who believes that there is a soul or spirit in every being. Also, personally, I like to worship creation, and not one specific creator. Hope that helps!
we don't *disdain* the pagans, zoomie my love. we merely differ from them. here are the main differences: 1. we do not cast spells. ever. 2. we do not have god/goddess, but multiple gods/goddesses. by "we" i refer to the clan of which i am a member and zoomie is a fledgling member (as yet not full). it is similar, but not quite the same as, a coven. having said that, i am, personally, a pantheist as well. there isn't a doctrine. i can do that if i want
before anyone gets upset, let me add that the above is completely a (crass) joke. zoomie and i pick on each other all the time, and he isn't african american, (although he does have a 'fro lol.) i apologize if anyone finds it offensive, i didn't think about it until later.
I always just thought Pagans to be people who don't beleive in a god that is unearthly. I always kind of figured they beleived in Gaia or what not and all the other forest spirits and water spirits. "Pagan" is the usual translation of the Islamic term mushrik, which refers to 'one who worships something other than God' I think people have just labeled Pagans to be anyone who is Wiccan, Druid, etc.
