anybody here go to University of Colorado Boulder now, or ever at any point in their life?

I just got accepted there and will be transferring, but probably not for another year because I am doing study abroad first.

I live in Ohio, and have never been to Boulder, so I have no idea what it's like, what to expect, and what the general atmosphere of the school is in general.

I applied there mainly because of the mountains nearby cuz I love to snowboard!:p

I would really appreciate comments/feedback about it

    thanks :)

I was also accepted to CU Boulder. I applied mainly because it is in colorado and Boulder is a pretty hip town (though can be quite expensive), but then I re-thought the tuition, and it's pretty extreme if your "out of state," so I'll probably being going to Warren Wilson instead..........However, it does seem to be a pretty cool school, and there's always something to do in Boulder....Oh yea, there's another really interesting school in Boulder called Naropa-you might wanna check it out.......... Peace, Stacey

thanks, i will keep that in mind.

ya it is expensive! they are raising tuition at teh school i am at right now, and i think it is totally ridiclous how much they expect us to pay. personaly i dont' even think it's that good of a school to deserve that high of a tuition ( the school i'm at currently, i mean) so i have been looking for schools with a beter reputation, and of course ones that are out west near the mountains.

aid is dropping in Colorado, the lege is threatening to reduce the amount it vests at Cu (over Churchill, like that's their biz)
    Rent is heinous.
Traffic back from the ski zone will keep you in stop and go traffic on 8 percent grade for hours Sunday afternoons, Boulder police are itchy to get into it with people, the goofy sports dorks burn couches every year on the Hill, Colorado income tax is high, the state's going broke and the yuppies are everywhere.

Boulder is cool, but it's really more of a trendy-hip town if that makes sense, I dunno, it just rubbed me the wrong way when I was there. It was more important to have dreads than to have ideas it seemed.

I work in Boulder right now and have many friends who attend CU. My friends really like going there and I was going to but I don't have the patience to spend 4 years at school. From what I gather some departments are better than others, I guess the engineering department is a little below average abd the history department is as well. Supposedly the english department is pretty good.

I go to boulder occasionally and it strikes me as a place where people of all outlooks can come together and spend their parents money. Like I'm sure someone else has mentioned it's a really expensive town, and even if you wear dreads and talk about equal oppurtunity odds are you drive a new model car. But hey, the right ideas are one step in the right direction

I live close to Boulder and head up there every weekend. It is an awesome town. There's always something going. The whole town is pretty easy to get around too. I don't go to school there, so I can't say much for that, but the campus is pretty and the parties are wild. They do have a huge drinking problem there though. A girl died there in a frat house late last year and it hasn't really seemed to have affected any of the students drinking habbits. There's been word going around Colorado that they are trying to legalize, or at least de-criminlize, pot in Boulder to try to deal with the drinking problem there. The mountains are close, and the sceneries beautiful. I would recommend CU if you can afford it.
