so we got this new guy that started work 2 weeks ago, he is cool and all. But he always wants to smoke at work, I don't really like to cause, where I work their is a police station down the street, and they have been pulling people over left and right for all kinds of shit. I been trying to tell this dude, we should not smoke on the port everyday, I don't know what ells to say to him, I am getting really paranoid. Any advice you guys could give me?

I would suggest simply saying no that you dont want to get fired, or caught by the cops. Tell him you can smoke after work.

Or say that you have quit smoking or something.

I agree with the above post.

But, I'm kind of the same way at work, if it seems to be a good time to smoke, I usually just step right outside where someone would smoke cigeratte and toke up, and I usually don't give any regard to Cops. Though I guess cops may alot differant in Seattle than they are whereever the heck you live.

ive smoked a joint in the carpark (lunchtime, not deserted or something)
its really no big deal. if your smoking a joint, it looks just like a cigarette from afar, its all about how you handle it.

Just don't join him in his sessions. you can only warn someone so many times. If he gets caught you get to give him a big ol' "I told you so" as they write him a ticket (or arrest him depending on what state your in)

People take unneccessary risks. There is not one reason that he can't wait until after work. Theres a million places I could hide and smoke pot here. Hell, one guy gave me coke in the factory when I was helping down there last summer. It's so big and there's all these hiding spots because we downsized so dramatically. But I have never toked at work. Out of respect, I guess. I like my job and to tell the truth, I probably wouldn't get fired, but I would lose respect and that's important to me.

Anyway, I would just let him do his thing and give him kudos if he doesn't get caught.

Well I work him right now, and we have to clean this building, then when we get done with that building we have to walk around to clean the other building. And that’s when he wants to smoke. Maybe I am just way too paranoid? and its all in my head?

Plus he smokes before he comes into work, I made the mistake of smoking with him the first, cause at the time, I could not find any smoke, and he said any time you want some smoke just let me know

dont be so paranoid, i smoke outside of my work all the time and the police station is right across the street. as long as you arent super obvious about it no one will notice or care. roll up a joint or even a blunt and walk casually and all will be fine. every night after work my whole work force (about 8 people) sit out front and smoke a few joints. by the way toys'r'us rocks!!

along with the dont be so paranoid point. use your best judgement cause i was also just thinkin that the cops around my area are complete morons!!!! so if you have a lot of dick cops then stick with everyone else's advise and just say no. you can't get into any trouble if you arent hittin it!! when worse comes to worse theres always the good ol' "RUN LIKE HELL" approach;)

Just cause you smoked with him one time doesn't mean you have to stick around whenever he does again. Just be careful. I wouldn't go as far as saying it's all in your head. you ARE right by a police station. Just use commom sense and you should be fine.
