hi, im a little worried. My hair is falling out, not just a few strands, but not clumps either, in the bath yesterday i washed my hair and the amount that came out was about the thickness of a pencil. ive dyed my hair for a while, but have been giving it a break for the last few months, its been falling out like this about six weeks and feels much thinner, ive just had a baby (4 months ago) could this be it? im also tiered all the time and possibly have IBS, im going to the docs tommorow, just wondered if you had any thoughts. and is there any natural remedy for womens hair falling out?

    thanks.xxx

I believe it may have something to do with the pregnancy. However, you could have a thyroid problem which can cause hair loss.

There are several treatment options for female hair loss. The only natural one I know of is Nioxin shampoo, sold exclusively at salons, which uses a propietary blend of plant oils that supposedly remove the hormone DHT from hair follicles, which is sometimes the cause of hair loss. This remedy has not been proven in clinical trials, though.

If it continues, see a dermatologist. He or she has many options to try & treat this problem.

a few weeks or months after you have a baby it's totally normal to lose your hair. hair grows thicker during pregnancy, and after you've had the baby it falls out. dont worry! and if all else fails, use rogaine!
