okay this will sound so ridiculous because i am a hypocondriac but here goes...I am on the depo shot and have been for about 9 months, towards the end of 3 mnths before i get another shot i always bleed a little probably b/c i have less in my system. well this last time they changed to the generic version of the shot which i have been told hasto be the exact same, just cheeper... but since the middle of this month (my last month until i get the shot in a few days) i have been bleeding more than normally, not heavily, but a bit more than i normally do on this shot, i have also been having cramps as well. this hasnt happened to me before and it just feels like the shot has worn off since its like i am on a full period now for a few weeks, not just light spotting before my shot. since i feel like its worn off i have not had any sex and will not until i get it back in my system. cramps and bleeding are side effects of this shot, but its just wierd that it hasnt happened before so im freaking a little. and do you think there is little chance i could be pregnant with all this bleeding, and being on a 99.7% effective shot? i heard u can bleed while pregannt so now i even freak out when i bleed even though i have no pregnancy symptoms. im a nutcase i know. is it possible this is happening cuz i am on a generic version? i basically need to hear that blood and cramps means basically no pregnancy, just crazy thoughts in my head.

Well what you described is pretty much what my wife went through. She's fine it stopped after her 3rd shot. Now she doesn't bleed at all.

From the sounds of it, I seriously doubt that you are pregnant, but I would call your doctor and report the bleeding, just to see what he/she has to say, and if they can offer you any insight.

    Good luck, and take care!

It sounds like the change in the shot caused this to happen. Make SURE you tellthem this the next time you go and get your shot. How long have you been on depo? After about 3 years for me, I still bleed a little towards the end of the 3 months and feel cranky like my hormones are out of whack. Tell your doctor the problems you are experiencing and they might switch you back to see what happens. Use a condom when having sex just to be safe for now, until your body is under control. there have been cases of "bad" or "expired" shots being given. Just be safe and you should have nothing to worry about.
