Actually, juggalo, if you know anything about "creative" writing you would know that you could put it both ways.... actually i dont know if a comma there would even be grammatically correct as commas are widely misused. The purpose of a period seperating my thoughts provides a certain emphasis that a comment would not give and I believe, is indeed grammatically correct.
And here are two better ways that your sentence should have been written. "It was a compound sentence, therefore, there shouldnt have been a period but instead a comma." OR.... "It was a compound sentence. Compound sentences should be seperated by commas, not periods." BTW, I rather like anal. It's great fun.
Yes, I see my one and only punctuation mistake in that sentence- the period should have been after the "e" and before the quotation marks.
what about that eminem song where he says something about being "more poorer than you are"? that tops them all.
i know it is. doesn't mean it's the best word to use though. it just ANNOYS me. damn, most poor is more easier (and yes, there is a difference there) on the ears. it was just a thought though. it doesnt annoy me that much really.
just accept the fact that no one finds your archaic, if proper, use of the english language to be pleasant to the ears and mouth. move on. you're out-voted.
Quote: don't really care about any of that as long i understand what the person's trying to say. except for one thing. i hate when people type "loose" instead of "lose." KC, you took the words right out of my mouth, good thing I scanned this thread prior to responding. What is the deal with that, it's an epidemic. Looser doesn't even sound that similar to loser.
it's such a petty issue, though there are times when it has come up and i've had to pause to figure out what the person was trying to say. did they mean "lose" or "loose?" "looser" or "loser?"
