Today was easter, and my family was making a ham. Since I started being vegetarian half a year ago, the smell of meat has never bothered me this way. But today, I felt like if I had to keep smelling this aroma I would puke. it was totally sick, and I couldnt stand the thought of the animal dying and its flesh roasting. is anyone else this bothered by it?

Ham bothers me the most visually, I think it's because it retains the pinkish-red color when cooked. But yes, whenever I smell hamburg(er?) cooking I feel wicked nautious. The sight is disturbing too, especially after seeing 'The Wall'...

Yeah I get like that all the time, can't even understand how people consider it a food product.

Yeah, animals that are normally cooked in whole pieces bother me, because of the bones and the blood. Normally grusome images do not bother me, but it invokes images of how it died and what reason and none of them make sense to me with an abundance of other foods to eat.

it's an invasive, greasy, heavy smell. I've always been bothered by pork smells.

ugh, my parents were having a hunk of pork for dinner the other night (at least i think it was pork... either way, it was guh-ross) and my dad left a hunk of it on his plate while he went to go get some other stuff from the kitchen, and it started bleeding all over the plate. i think it was undercooked. or gross. or maybe even both. but it grossed me out SO MUCH i had to move a bottle of wine in front of it so i couldn't look. oh man... i wanted to hurl. apparently they put red food colouring in some meat too, to make it look better. the smell of it is rancid as well. the meat smell i hate the worst is chicken. my friends mom was frying some up a while ago and it smelled like ass.

Ham is the worst. I can handle being around the smell of turkey & chicken but when I am around ham I litterally begin to gag.

Im so glad people understand. I was literally gagging on easter. What made it worse is my family kept talking about how people kill their pets because they bite their kids and they skin them and eat them. I really thought about going to the rest room to barf, how sick is that to discuss killing animals on a holiday? to me viewing my family, thats all the holiday is about, killing an animal.
