    Hey all.

I was just wondering what your guilty high maintenance pleasures are. I just started going tanning & I'm enjoying it. I'm considering getting a brazilian wax, mainly because I hate hair. How bad do these hurt? I used to get my nails done. I 'm thinking about getting a pedicure very soon. I tweeze my eyebrows everyday. I dye my hair. I wear makeup. I always smell good. I like to look good. I want to try new things to make myself feel better. I mean I'm a very confident person, now as it is, but I want to fine tune it a lil. So, how many of you are natural beauties or high maintenance queens? I used to pride myself in being hot & low maintenance, but I've changed my mind on that. ;)

Wow...I actually thought about this. And I guess I don't have anything to be high-maintenance about...Oh well.

Holy crap. After reading that I realize I know next to nothing about the needs of the high maintenance women. I hope you get more replies because I'll be reading. Most of the girls I have been with are high maint, but I never could stand them for too long...

I have never plucked my eye brows.
I have never had my nails done.
I have never been in a tanning bed.
    I have never had a bikini/leg/eyebrow/etc. wax.
    I don't shave my legs.
I have never dyed my hair permanently (just the temporary stuff that washes out in 8-12 washes).
I only wear makeup a couple times a week, and even then it's only mascara, chapstick, and moisturiser.
I would not feel bad going out in public in pyjama pants, a jacket, and my hair a mess.
I wear deodorant, but I don't care if I smell.
    I'm a pig. :)

Purple, you don't sound like a pig at all, you just sound low-maintenance (which isn't a bad thingl). :)

I vary. For the most part I'm low maintenance but sometimes I go through days or periods where I actually look forward to putting on makeup/blowdrying my hair, etc. I'd probably be more excited if I had some new clothes...ugh they don't even fit right and its been ages since I've bough anything new.

I tend to think of high-maintenance as more of an emotional thing- but that's only because I've been called emotionally high maintenance before.

I pluck my eyebrows, shave, occasionally wear nailpolish, always use good smelling conditioner, always use good smelling lotion or perfume, and wear makeup.

But I also don't care if I go out of the house without makeup, my hair all sloppy, and in crappy clothes. I suppose it just depends on my mood.

I can't stand high maintainence girls. You chicks take forever to be ready to go places. you don't like to get dirty. It drives me nuts. I rarely spend any time on making myself look good. Why? I can throw outfits together and pull just about anything off. It wastes time. If I look decent and I don't smell bad, I'm ready to go.

I think high maintainence girls are hard to be friends with because they can't let go of trying to look good and miss out on feeling good in life. I can't drag a prom queen into the woods to dance and laugh around a campfire and listen to the sounds of the night because they're too busy checking thier make-up in thier compact mirror, making sure they don't get dirty, and making sure they don't act too "un-ladylike". Who made up the rule that women look better with makeup and waxed skin and painted nails and perfect outfits?

I like being in charge of how I feel and how I look. It feels SO much better not to care about what anyone else thinks. I don't want to hear the arguement that doing those things makes themself feel better, 'cause no one is going to tell me waxing and grooming and slathering makeup onto your natural skin is fun.

i have done all of the above.... i suppose i am high maintenance.

if i'm broke, i don't insist on indulging in these guilty pleasures.

i think women in the south do this kinda thing pretty regularly...

    hehe, i'm one 'em :)

    '

    i am ready - showered/makeup/dressed in 15 minutes :)

part of the reason why my hair is so short... i have more time for more important things :)

and if i'm caught in the rain or roughing it while camping out... my hair is very versatile.

my sister, on the other hand... she requires at least an hour to get ready.

    geez.

sorry, hippievixen what I meant is i don't like girls who are constantly having something done everyday (going to a salon, tanning bed, getting nails done). I have gone and had my hair cut and dyed, and been tanning and I got my eyebrows waxed once (I won't do that again!) but when it's done, it's done. I don't need to look at myself every 10 minutes to make sure I look perfect.

I know this one girl who is obsessed with beauty and being superficial. I guess that's why I'm a little jaded towards girls who are high maintainence.

I used to dye my hair every once and a while (until my hair freeked and fell out... never do that again) I had my nails done once when i was 14 and had destroyed them in about 3 days... Big waste of money...

Naturegoddess69-you've got to do what you gotta do- but your name could hardly be less appropriate-as natural you definately ain't!! Perhaps as someone else posted it's a deliberate irony. Must confess I only go for low-maintenance types, but each to their own.

I have an affair with tweezing my eyebrows. Lucky for me, I don't have to do it everyday, but I have an obsession with having perfectly arched eyebrows, not a stray hair in sight, all perfectly groomed. *lol* I actually check out other people's eyebrows all of the time, and my husband can tell you that I will go on and on about some woman's eyebrows and how beautiful they looked and how I want my arch to look like that. I just think that eyebrows really frame the eyes and can set them off or take away from them. It's a weird obsession, but I just have a thing for eyes and I love to make mine stand out. Not with a lot of make-up, but just...oh, I don't know. I love eyes, and the eyebrows are the framework for them. ;)

My hair, well, I pamper my hair. I rarely go to salons to have anything done with it, but I can spend quite a bit on hair care products. I don't use hair spray, mousse, or gel, I go "all natural", but I won't think much about forking out a little extra cash for certain shampoos or conditioners. It's my guilty pleasure that actually costs something. My eyebrows don't. ;)

    That's about it I think. :)
