Anyone ever happen to listen to them? I recently got the album "power plant", and it is wonderful! A terrific psychedelic album from the late 1960's. I remember reading that the lead singer grew up with roky erikson of the 13th floor elevators, and they have a sort of similar sound (except of course without the sweet electric jug, or whatever the hell the elevators do to get that sweet warboling sound ) I highly recommend the album "power plant", its really good!
It is very good. "My Time" is just...sigh...Man, the 13th Floor Elevators? Golden Dawn? I'm so proud.
indeed Krystin im so glad i was able finally able to find thoughs albums...unfortunatly i had to get them off the internet. The record stores around here are aweful!
"This Way Please" is by far my favorite song from Power Plant. I don't like the Dawn as much as the Elevators, but they're good. I was lucky enough to find a copy of Power Plant at a local music store. That store has now, unfortunately, closed down. On a side note, I believe that, in addition to being childhood friends with the Dawn, Roky and the Elevators actually helped in getting Power Plant released.
