Mmm... cigaro... MY COCK IS MUCH BIGGER THAN YOURS! MY COCK CAN WALK RIGHT THROUGH THE DOOR!

I like metal, but some of it can be a bit much for me... Oh, and I'm not from the UK, so I guess I'm pretty useless

    Apologies accepted, though unnecessary.

Okay... I'd suggest Iced Earth if you don't know them yet, an american heavy metal band. Powerful, honest, refreshing, emotional at times, with really captivating songs, Jon Schaffer, the rhythm guitarist, really has a knack for songwriting. Especially the albums with Matthew Barlow on vocals are awesome, you just have to hear him sing.

Less well known are Evergrey, a swedish heavy / power metal band with a slightly progressive, dark sound. The use of keyboards isn't too distracting, it's used in a way it only reinforces the music instead of blunting it down. Again the vocals stand out; Tom S. Englund's got an adorable voice, raw (quite a relief from the castrates power metal bands usually have for singers) but extremely emotional when needed. I'd suggest the album "Recreation day" mostly.

Kreator are a band that I hope you will enjoy, but am not exactly sure about that... I don't know you'd enjoy the vocals too much as much as they're not so melodic. They're one of Germany's most famous thrash metal band and certainly the most serious, around since early / mid-eighties. So their vocals are still rooted in the genesis of extremer forms of metal (not really growling but he ain't no Pavarotti either :p). But musically they're very good, and I think you'd like their less old-school albums, like Renewal, Cause for conflict and Endorama. They're also one of the few actively left-winged metal bands, which deserves my attention too. :)

I've been slightly neglecting my non-growling-over-one-chord bands but if I come up with some more I'll post them. :)

I'm a big metal fan particularly the 80's stuff like Guns N Roses, Skid Row, Motley Crue, Iron Maiden to name a few. More modern stuff I like are SOAD, Bredd 77, Alice In Chains (not that modern), Killswitch Engage and Rammstein. Also have stuff by Soulfly, Sepultura and I'm going to see Nine Inch Nails in July :sunglasse

All this metal talk made me dig out the old tape cassettes ;)

A band I completely forgot about came to my attention about half an hour ago.. ACID BATH.. I used to think the rocked :H I dont even know if they are still going..

Also my beloved BioHazard.. Been years since I listened to them and ahhh so good to hear that all over again!!

I'm gonna slowly turn back into a metal maniac soon..

Better get WinMx started up so I can get these bad boys on disk

I spotted a napalm death and cannibal corpse tape too.. But I don't think I'm ready to unearth all that again just yet

I think if everyone listened to metal all day everyday the world would be a better place.
