List some of your favorite performances of great actors; the performances you think best reflect the career of the actor. I'll give some examples of my own. Denzel Washington in Malcolm X. (I know he won for Training Day, but to me, it'll always be a crime that Pacino won in '94 with the next performance on this list.) Oh, and by the way, when I type Malcolm X, I usually accidentally type "Malcolm C," then look at it for a minute, admiring the fun. Al Pacino in Scent of a Woman. Great actors playing blind people is a nice recipe for a memorable film. Sure, he robbed Denzel with this performance, but his overbearing craziness held over by Chris O'Donnel's complete nervousness was wonderful. Truly brilliant.
Yeah, but he has like 50. Forrest Gump, A League of Their Own. The guy continues to redefine his career.
The Godfather - Al Pacino The Good, The Bad and The Ugly - Clint Eastwood Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid / The Sting - Robert Redford & Paul Newman
I couldn't name just one, so here are my top 5... 5. Martin Landau in Ed Wood 4. George C. Scott in Exorcist III - yea even better than Patton 3. Juliette Binoche in Bleu 2. Ben Kinglsey in Gandhi 1. F. Murray Abraham in Amadeus - simply THE BEST performance ever!
Can't seem to limit myself to a strict number, but here's a few ideas: Marlon Brando, The Godfather Peter Sellers, Being There Robin Williams, The Fisher King Lawrence Oliver, The Entertainer Paul Newman, Cool Hand Luke Katherine Hepburn, The Lion in Winter Peter O'Toole, The Lion in Winter Spencer Tracy, Inherit the Wind Clark Gable, Gone With The Wind Humphrey Bogart, The African Queen Erroll Flynn, Robin Hood Liam Neeson, Schindler's List Bruce the Shark, Jaws
Damn I forgot to mention that one. I also forgot: ME in Fled (cheezy Stephen Baldwin flick) - I was "cameraman who gets pushed". It was definitely a career-defining performance, because my career went nowhere after tht
Couple I forgot, Jack Lemmon, Mr. Roberts Henry Fonda, Mr. Roberts, The Grapes of Wrath Linda Lovelace, Deep Throat
