Hey all, I've recently been taking a few slow release morphine pills for recreational use. Last week I believe I took 1 every 12 hours for about 2 or 3 days. I stopped for a bit, and two days ago I took 1 pill in the morning.

I'm just curious, what's a recommended dosage? These are 60mg of slow release morphine. I took one pill about 2 hours ago, just curious if I would be fine if I took 1 more?

Sorry if this sounds like a dumb question ;)

    Thanks!

60 mg is a big dose. Most people start at 15 to 30 mg every 12 hours. It is impossible for me to say if one more would be okay. Everyones response to opiates varies, and the dose depends on your history of opiate use, response to opiates, and weight.

A cancer patient can titrate to a dose that would very likely kill an opiate naive patient.

Well, I waited about 4 hours, wasn't feeling much. I know this is slow release morphine, but when I've taken it before I usually feel the effects about 45 minutes to an hour after taking it. After about 4 hours or so, I took another one. I was sitting down, then BAM. It hit me. It was almost overwhelming! It's a very good, relaxed, warm feeling, just like it has been before. But I won't be doing it tomorrow, that's for sure.
