    Hello after a long time.

just a question; anybody knows the sweddish (?) band called Hoven Droven?
Kinda folkish mixed with rock and such. It's quite good, got it from my friend and I wonder - are they popular in the north of our beautiful continent? And elsewhere?

    Love,

Hey Borut, where have you been? :)

I know them by name, but not much else. I wouldn't say they're very popular, but I believe they have a relatively big fanbase among folkrock fans around the country, especially in the north where they are from (the Republic of Jamtland, as some people like to call it - they have their own independency movement up there). They seem to stick to the north for their concerts, and sometimes go abroad, so they're probably bigger outside of Sweden like many other bands.

Another kinda similar band that I like is Garmarna. I believe they've toured together in the past. Heard of them? They performed at a folk/world music festival in Ljubljana a few years ago. They mix a bit of 'modern' beats into what otherwise sounds like typical Swedish folk with lots of vocals (in Swedish).

    peace,
    -Pat
