    I'll go first -

-We'll develop other sources of energy than oil because there's about 50 years worth of it left at our rate of consumption.

-Sex habits will have to change - either that because of the rapid growing rate on aids contamination - or the World population will diminish drastically or most people will always be on these antibiotics that turns you into a zombie but maintain you alive if "alive" is the term.

-Space exploration won't have progressed much if we haven't found another than solid or liquid fuels. The motors will also have to be 1000 times faster if we are to make any significant step forward.

-Politics as we know them will be on the verge of extinction. There will need to be a major revamp of the system - people lose interest, and there are too many restrictions nowadays.

    More?

i don't think we're going to be developing more energy sources. look at the little percentage we use now of renewable energy sources! we're going to keep using fossil fuels until they burn out in a few hundred years or so, then we will start to shit ourselves as we start to realise we have no way to generate energy!! arrggghh!

sex is going to open up to a more accepted thing: more and more younger people will be having sex, but sex education will not increase, causing a larger spread of AIDS and a high teenage pregnancy rate - in turn leading to the growth of population and less resources like food and electricity!

pregnant teenagers won't be able to have abortions (hence the population increase), as the hospitals will be full of obese people! a third of britain will be obese by the year 2020, and doctors will be too busy in hospitals to care for people with other illnesses, therefore leading to the deaths of many, as less attention is given to them, and the decrease in resources will also lead to more death!

a lil pessimisstic i know... the world looks pretty much doomed in the next century or two. lucky i won't be around to witness it b/c it would scare the shit out of me. :S

I think technology will dominate the world more so than it is now. I can visualize a world in which kids "go to school" in front of a computer.

nah i reckon we're doomed. like beachbum7 said, we're probably going to rely on technology for EVERYTHING, it'l be the status quo. then, as well all know that technology is so unpredictable, there'll be a little hitch and everything will go wrong, like in that simpson's episode: everything that relies on technology will go BOOM and we'll have no back up, the whole world will be wrecked because of the lack of technology and we will all die! well, dont think im gonna be around for that either :p

Personally, I don't think we will be around in 50 years to find out if any of this is even true. I think that we will all be destroyed by a comet or meteor long before that. I am probably wrong and just paranoid, but hey, with the way the world is going today, does it seem that far out?

Nuclear Zombie mutants will dominate the earth from nuclear holocaust. The human race will be an underground resistance fighting for survival, and George W Bush will be a mutant tyranical leader, trying to kill the humans because the are a threat to the future

Global war disrupts economies around the globe. Oil prices are so high that the adverage consumer can no longer aford to pay for gas in most nations.
eastern nations fire nukes at the USA. USA lauches a all out offencive but due to lack of oil supplys the war is reduced to ground combat.
    Starvation on a globle scale.
Efforts to increase power supplys to nations through alt fuels fails mostly due to terrorist attacks.
Rich people build bunkers under their estates ,complete with stock piles of food and a complete complment of power producing devices.

3rd world nations die in record numbers.

The cost of a coca cola reaches $20.
a big mac meal cost $50.
The chance of you living to retirement age is about 10%
The chance you'll see the end of the world is 50%
    cigerates are illegal.
Drugs are still available and are cheaper then a meal.
    most people have gardens.

maybe we should look 2 or three years into the future.
or better yet, look at this as our future NOW and see what silliness and stupidity and horriblness and goodness we are up to at this time.
The Revolution of Learning has begun for instance.
I no longer go to school; I make my own curriculum; I'll be done first year of university by the time my friends finish grade 12
There is always threat of war and 'terrorist' attack
nuclear bombs could destroy vast portions of our planet at any second
The end of the mayan calendar is quickly advancing... if that means anything to anyone

...anyway. I want to change a lot of this, and I intend to change some of it at least.

mass starvation which punctuated the death throes of the petrolium era, even in once dominant nations has nearly ended except in a few pockets of hard core luditeism where it is believed this must be accepted as part of nature's way and to avoid repeating past mystakes. much of the remaining population takes the more reasonable view that it was economic, political and other forms of fanatacism that preventied the crysis from being averted. accumulation and austentation are now recognized as forms of unsophisticated poverty rather then indications of wealth. prestege going to those most creative of and generous with bennifit and beauty, just as generous nature only collects its payment in kind and after the fact, and not as a shopkeeper before. though many people still build with wood there is little or no clear cutting as there is no corporate infrastructure to support and reward it. as a resault many natural habitats once thought hopelessly and irideamably lost are begining to return, in healthy and diverse, though granted much altered form. political units tend to be small geographicly though seldom engauging in conflict nor possessing the means to do so. energy production now comes nearly half from small to moderate scale hydro and nearly as much from wind, solar and other alternatives. the only fuels used for combustion come from biomass and in combination with a few remaining nuclear facilities takes up the remaining slack, though both combustion in and form as well as what remains of the neuclear industry are looked upon with public disfavor. oil at any rate is no longer extracted and refined nor is coal. the private passinger automobile is for all practical purposes extinct as a backbone of transportation infrastructure. in its place, where population densities allow, very small scale guideway based systems proliferate, and where it does not a kind of robotic garden tractor is often used for transportation as well as agriculture and construction. (in some places the use of beasts of burden is once again popular though they tend to be a minority). something resembling the internet has survived/been rebuilt and is becoming increasingly self sustaining. few mass production industries remain. prominent among them are the production of solar cells and the nuts and bolts of these newer energy, transport and communication paradigms. coastlines have also shifted due to a mean sea rise of only four inches, in tern a resault of dramatic shrinkage of polar icecaps due to global warming. with the demise of the dominance of the automobile and energy from combustion this has however stabalized and scientists predict may well begin to reverse within the lifetimes of near future generations. old national boundries where they did not fallow natural features and only existed as lines on maps and in politicians minds have virtualy dissappeared and been forgotten, along with most emotional attatchment to the idiologies and beliefs that once sepperated them. mass media has been almost totaly supplanted by local gatherings and events and to a lesser degree by the internet itself. houses tend to be small and privacy zones arround them are seldom contiguous. the few cities that survive are mostly centers of scolarship and learning, though a very few are also transportation hubs.

We will be using alternate sources of fuel...after we are forced to change because of lack of resources...computer chips implanted in all newborns under the guise of "never losing your child" again yet the other side of it will be you can be located anytime anywhere...no cash all plastic....much death life in america will be similar to israel nowadays constant attacks bombings...genetically ehanced food water....class wars....over-population problems...sounds great huh?

Pizza Hut, which has been secretly using all of its profits to fund and create a huge stock pile of missles and Vacuum cleaner robots modified to shoot flames and nija stars, will launch an all out offensive against the world, and cause one of the largest global conflicts known to man. This will eventually lead up to The last Forces of The UN, Allying themselves with Bill Gates to destroy the Pizza menace, but Bill Gates, who actually programmed the Vacuum robot warriors, betrays The UN and uses a giant, skyscraper sized, Microsoft Robotic suit to destroy the armies of both Pizza Hut and The UN. Than Bill Gates will rise up and take over the world and reveal that he was actually a robot, sent back from the future by the Zombie Head of Geroge W. Bush.

Bush Jr. the 6th will be President of the U.S., succeeding a long line of Bush Presidents including his father, great grandfather, great great grandfather, great great great grandfather (GW Bush), great great great grand uncle (Jeb Bush) and his great great great great grandfather (GHW Bush).

(we've had two already. Don't think this is impossible.)

The RNC and DNC will have merged into one unit, preselecting all Presidential candidates for a public that is duped into thinking it is getting a choice.

Hip Forums will still be around but run by right wing Bush supporters who think they are hippies.
