What is the price of regular gas around you? What is the highest you have seen it? Right now we are up to 2.05 in southern VA This is the highest I can remeber it ever being
I had to pay 2.09 for regular the other day. ugh, I don't know what it is back in SC where I'm from, but I do remember 5 years ago when I first came down here for school, thinking the 1.45 for premium was just ridiculous lol...I had been paying 1.20 or so back in SC at that time. God I WISH it was a 1.45!
around $2.06 here in mankato mn. ...this is the happiest i've ever been about a rapidly increasing inconvenience.
Consider yourselves lucky. Here regular, unleaded is 2.21 (at the cheap place), and 2.29 at the place I usually go. That is obviously the highest I've seen it. When I first got my car I could fill the tank on $13, gas was $1.03 a gallon.
It's $2.15 here in the Baltimore/Washington area. I think the days of cheap gas prices are over; if you ever see prices lower than $1.80 again, consider it a bargain.
think yourself lucky.. here in NZ.. were on about 1.30-1.50$nz a litre.. thats atleast twice as expensive as 2ish$us a gallon... englands worse i believe
Yeah I know a gal that lives over in Italy and mentioned how bad the prices were there too. Gas sucks.
Around $2.19/gallon, it doesn't bother me, I don't use any. Maybe people will be more reluctant to drive so much.
Economists have actually studied gasoline prices, and how it affects driving. Most of the studies I've heard of concluded that gas is a very inelastic commodity, and the amount people drive wouldn't significantly drop until gas prices approached $4 per gallon.
2.36, when gas hits $4 a gallon I'm converting my car to ethanol and breakin out my grandpa's old bootlegging still
A cheap & effective way to boost your cars gas mileage is to add about a quart of sugar to you gas tank before you fill it up. You might even get as much as an extra 12 to 15 miles per gallon this way.
Most people know this is complete bs and will actually totaly fug up your engine, but some might not, so heed, this is bs, this is hateful, don't listen. This individual is promoting the destruction of property. Seems opinions aren't enough, would like to damage your life as well. .... and 2.09 here, s' why there's a diesel engine about to be dropped into an old van.
element7 obviously has ties to big oil, just like George W. Bush, or perhaps works at an environmentally destructive gas station and stands to profit by supressing my information. Don't listen to him. Me? I drive my Toyota Prius Hybrid to work, and ride my bike everywhere else. My car!
Well it's one thing to share your opinion, it's another to try and get people to wreck the engines in their cars because you derive some perverted pleasure out of it. Taken from straightdope: There are three basic ways that sugar in the gas tank is going to foul up someone's car. First, it will clog the fuel filter. Second, what gets through the fuel filter will clog the fuel pump. Finally, what makes it through the fuel filter and the fuel pump will completely foul whatever fuel delivery system your car uses. A carburetor that gets sugar in it is junk; you can strip it down and attempt to rebuild it but you likely will fail - it's a gummy, sticky mess. Your fuel injected vehicle will not fare much better when mucked up with the sticky stuff. This sort of vandalism will result in the car hesitating, losing power, and stalling. And repairs will not be cheap - replacing the fuel filter, dropping and draining the fuel tank, possibly a new carburetor or new fuel injectors. The latter two are very expensive, both in parts and labor. That's what Pikachu is suggesting people do to their cars. What a great guy. ... and I work for big oil and gw? have another drink bub.
It's about $2 to a gallon here. Georgia always tends to be cheaper... but don't complain, in some places in Europe it can be up to $5 a gallon. The car I use (my dad's) is really good on gas so I'm not complaining. I just find it ironic that the people who whine the most about gas prices around here are the people with the lifted trucks that get tops 10 miles to the gallon. Jeeeesus.
