this not necesarily about lsd, but about shrooms, lsd, and salvia. Anyways, I was recently put on wellbutrin recently, as I am apparently depressed. I was wondering, would this have any effect if I were to do lsd while on wellbutrin?
yea i think it would effect you differently im not sure how thought. Bolth anti-deppresents and LSD work on the seratonin in the brain. but im no doctor just another highschool stoner with a computer.
it depends on the antidepressant, because they don't all work the same way. i'm not too familiar with welbutrin, but if it alters your seratonin levels in some way it may be likely to decrease, or in some circumstances copletely eliminate, the effects of illicit substances which also affect seratonin levels, such as lsd, psilocin, mdma, etc. this most often happens with SSRI's, or selective seratonin reuptake inhibitors. these are pills such as prozac, zoloft, paxil, etc. salvinorin a does not affect the brain in the same fashion as other psychedelics whatsoever, and it's effects should be affected in no way at all.
well, the main thing, is that I don't want something crazy to happen. If it just mreduces the level of the trip, that won't be too bad, but I just want to know it won't cause anything really undesirable to happen. edit: the label says: Bupropion hydrochloride extended realease tablets.
oh, and to quote erowid, about MDMA, which I plan on tring soon: "Contraindications Do not take MDMA if you are currently taking an MAOI. MAOIs are most commonly found in the prescription anti-depressants Nardil (phenelzine), Parnate (tranylcypromine), Marplan (isocarboxazid), Eldepryl (l-deprenyl), and Aurorex or Manerix (moclobemide). Ayahuasca also contains MAOIs (harmine and harmaline). MDMA and MAOIs are a potentially dangerous combination. Check with your doctor if you are not sure whether your prescription medication is an MAOI." Yea. So, does Wellbutrin contain MAOIs? What are MAOIs?
well, i wouldn't be so worried about the interaction of the two drugs causing a problem so much as the condition you're being treated for and the acid causing a problem. mental "illnesses" are generally somewhat loose or broad categorizations for people who just don't fit the "normal" mold, but in some cases there are some real genuine problems of varying degrees. no one can tell you if you're mentally sound enough to trip; you have to just decide for yourself in most cases. but if a professional has seen it fit to treat your mental condition with medication, i'd take it as a good indication that you may not be the best candidate for tripping. just my worthless input...
Well, I suppose you're right... but, what would could go so wrong if I did it in a safe enviorment, with trusted friends? Wouldn't I just at the worst be out of it for 12 hours or so? And can I still do E, even if I can't do lsd?
